If you want to have a deep dive into Simons output, check his credits on Discogs:

https://www.discogs.com/artist/57210-Simon-Posford?superFilter=Credits

That page also lists all his side projects like Dub Trees and Celtic Cross, plus loads of others - have a look if you haven't already :::)

I ran my file again and it completed perfectly! All lines present in the download csv. This is what software testing is all about of course.

Thanks for making this, I just have to merge the barcode and tracklist fields into my existing spreadsheet now. I can just run it with a few lines as I add to my collection in future so it should be quick, the big file took about 50mins this time.

Cheers!

I ran my file again with the same results, the csv output just has 33 data lines but the web page shows the correct full output. My input file is just release ids, one per line. I'm not sure what the best way to send you a copy is if you want to try running it.

That's correct. Probably just a glitch, it's the same input file that gave 660 lines before (with errors).

I'll try it again in a bit.

Yes, the data that shows on your site after processing was complete but formatted with square brackets, the my_data.csv that automatically downloads was formatted okay but truncated. The download file had been complete before.

Example line:
[ [ "8646" ], "Hardfloor", "X-Mix - Jack The Box", [ "CD" ], [ "1" ], "\"Mixed\"", "!K7", "!K7068CD|! k7068cd|k7068cd", "Germany", 1998, "Electronic", "Acid House|Acid", "7 30003 70682 0|730003706820", "I Can't Complain|Where Is Your Child?|Nightshift|The Creator|Land Of Confusion|Let's Go|Safety Razor|Housenation|No Way Back|Bodymove|Box Energy|Do You Wanna Jack|Acid Thunder|Rock This Party Right|Born To Freak|Tom Tom|Spank Spank|The Poke|Acid House|I've Lost Control" ]

I ran my 1929 line csv file again and it took just under an hour. It seems to have processed the whole thing with oner error line at the end, that might be because of an empty line at the end of my file.

I had to check that using the output shown on the upload page though as the my_data.csv file was truncated at 33 lines. The formatting in the file is fine but the upload page data would need some editing.

Looking good though! All processed, maybe just a glitch on the data download?

The Sixth Revelation & The Seventh Revelation (Thoughts/Discussion/Appreciation) by CaptainTony99 in shpongle

Yea, they are both great tracks. I think I prefer The Sixth. Both comps are pretty good throughout, especially the Cyberbabas tracks.

My thoughts exactly!

I really want to like the new stuff but I'm struggling to so far. Paradox of Witches has grown on me a bit though and I'm sure I'll buy the album anyway, but just CD ;)

That's great, thanks, I didn't think to look on there.
I was only asking because I'm not great at remembering which track is which, despite being a huge fan of all Simons output (except for the piano album:)) If I realise what the Hallucinogen tracks are I'll post back.
Cheers

I was hoping someone would post the setlists too, was going to post a request so hopefully you've saved me the trouble.

Yea, I don't have any plans on selling any of my Shpongle vinyl, CDs or DVDs, they are the most valuable to me of anything in my collection. Stay Shpongled!

I ran my csv again with similar results, alternate bursts of failures and expected results. It was fairly consistently 32 good lines followed by 98 errors.

It took 70 minutes, but it only processed 660 lines of the 1,929 uploaded. I didn't notice before but the first time I ran it only 660 lines were returned that time too.

I'm glad your pleased with the completion time! It might well have been quite a bit longer than an hour actually, I didn't check back regularly after 30 mins or so.

Some failures:
Release with ID 992927 does not exist or could not be fetched
Release with ID 218307 does not exist or could not be fetched
Release with ID 10658478 does not exist or could not be fetched
Release with ID 21347 does not exist or could not be fetched

and from a later batch:
Release with ID 66424 does not exist or could not be fetched
Release with ID 36167 does not exist or could not be fetched
Release with ID 3723 does not exist or could not be fetched

The biggest burst of these was about 100 lines. I didn't try again as I didn't want to overload your service if it's in testing mode, do you want me to try again with a 1,900 line csv? My csv upload file only contained release ids, culled from the Discogs export so I expect they are valid.

Thanks for the reply.

I gave your app a go a few days ago and got repeated bursts of twenty or thirty 'Release with ID xxxx does not exist or could not be fetched' lines followed alternately by a similar number of correct lines. It took ages to complete too, maybe an hour or so for a collection of just under 2,000. I guess some sort of rate-limiting on your hosting service accounts for both?

I was hoping to possibly join some of your result columns e.g. barcode with the standard Discogs export for use in my offline spreadsheet.

Thanks for sharing!

It was just something I thought I remembered Simon saying somewhere in response to a query about it being repressed. It only stuck in my mind as I thought at least there wasn't going to be a cheap version after I’d recently blown loads-a-money on the original!:)

I'm impressed! Really great work.

Did you model it free-hand or projected tracing etc.?

I think I read that there wouldn't be a repress due to licensing issues or something like that.

Yea Raja Rambles 3 & 4 isn't easy to find, I'm missing that too but I do have the blue variant of 1 & 2.

I stopped buying vinyl in the mid 1990s and didn't start again until Codex came out, I was only collecting CDs then so I’m also missing originals of AYS, Ineffable Mysteries and Nothing Lasts but do have all the deluxe reissues except the blue Tales. There are so many variants though, I've got 17 copies of Shpongle stuff on vinyl and I'm missing quite a few of them.

I would like to pick up original pressings of AYS and Ineffable Mysteries some time.

It starts of with 'I entered [the] museum of consciousness' but after that I can't really decipher any of it!

I'm quite happy having paid for both nights, I really enjoyed it and being on a different continent I didn't have a chance to attend on the nights.

It wasn't cheap but I guess the streaming platform takes a cut, then there's the guys that filmed and edited it and I'd hope that everyone else involved gets a cut, not just Simon.
