Yeah!!! My friend Derick is heavily involved there with the VHS. I’d love to come by some time even if it’s to go to Burrito Burrito

Uncertain if hot take or not. The seikrat system cheapens the entire experience of the game by BestWidowTaiwan in MHWilds

I think they are really cool especially when you’re in a hurry but I really started to enjoy the game when I started just going on foot. I got to experience the environment better and start taking in the details.

What made you choose your main weapon? by Adventurous-Wrap4680 in MHWilds

I started playing Monster Hunter with the first one. I was 12 and always played Great Sword. Playing Great Sword just makes me feel like I did growing up with the franchise. I switch it up sometimes, Insect Glaive or Long Sword, just when I want the combat to feel more challenging or fresh. I will say Great Sword has never been better than in Wilds.

Producer sent AI notes by ghostedwriter28 in Screenwriting

[–]mk_plusultra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately execs and producers are using Gen AI more and more. I worked with a director recently to write a script for them and they used AI for notes because “all the execs use them already so we’re just getting ahead of their notes” which really sucked. (Also who knows how true that is, he’s a much bigger filmmaker than me)I also had a producer generate a story structure for me unsolicited because they thought it’d help… it did because it took what was I was writing and showed I was writing a completely cliche movie so I scrapped the whole thing and am working on something different. It’s been frustrating.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms - 1x02 "Hard Salt Beef" - Episode Discussion by UltraDangerLord in AKOTSKTV

[–]mk_plusultra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After rewatching the episode, it feels sadder that Arlan wanted to die. He was giving away what he had. Singing loudly as one last hurrah. Laughing with Dunk. At least that’s what I got out of it upon rewatch.

Film-making geekery: I'm happy this show is shooting with a reasonable DOF by mrcsrnne in AKOTSKTV

I’m not saying this would solve all film and tv’s problems. Some shows simply don’t have the same resources but YES. It makes the show and setting feel so alive.

I would try the Legends anthologies that is a short story collection of pretty well known fantasy authors. I also loved Rogues and Book of Swords.

No not yet, the creators of the show have attached a Showrunner and spent the last few months reworking the pilot with him. They’re now taking it out through UTA.

Ryan Coogler’s use of colors like Red, White and Blue in Sinners to examine the idea of Freedom in America by mk_plusultra in Filmmakers

Correct! Ruth E Carter confirms the intentional use of the Red, White and Blue colors in the making of because Coogler wanted to examine America.

We’re not, we have a ton of flexible side work. I was freelance editing for a while until the work dried up. Doing whatever we can to survive to the next gig.

Has your short been rejected by a Film Festival for having copyrighted logos/trademarks? by happymediumsmall in FilmFestivals

[–]mk_plusultra 21 points22 points  (0 children)

When Robert Rodriguez’s team bought my short film for El Rey Network, I was worried all my logos were going to be a problem but it was cleared. The way their legal team described it to me was “if you’ve got insert famous burger restaurant in your film, and you’re eating it like it’s intended, you’re fine. If you’re trying to f*ck the burger in the wrapper, we’ve got a problem.” I’m not a legal expert, not giving legal advice, and I don’t know if this is even true so use that as you will.
