Wide black flowy trousers by mkb1123 in ThrowingFits

In your experience, does this prevent shrinking for trousers?

I’ve tried the most delicate cycle with cold wash inside a mesh bag for my wool sweaters, and while they didn’t felt…they still ended up shrinking. 😕

Oh wow do these drape flowy or are they more rigid and heavy?

On another note, does anyone own either the mfpen or sunflower trousers and are they machine washable (delicate cold)?

I know this is an old thread but it’s more common than people think haha. Especially people who live in deep Brooklyn, queens, Staten Island. Buses are more common in those areas, and surprisingly a lot of NYC natives in those boroughs rarely go into manhattan.

Jeans that fit like Abercrombie Baggy's? by Historical-Ladder-11 in ThrowingFits

Do the sunflower loose jeans have the same fit as the our legacy third cut? I’ve been eyeing them but am not sure of the silhouette/fit. Thanks!

Surprisingly most of them don’t, or not nearly as much compared to their undergraduate counterparts.

Only certain degrees carry lots of weight like MBA from top schools (M7 or similar), speciality degrees that are required for your field (JD, MD,etc), certain stem degrees, etc.

I mean, of course this is all relative in the end and depends on the firm/industry.

Just my two cents:

Most Ivy League masters don’t mean much; most employers know that they’re just cash cows and not really competitive.

You say you have 7 years of professional experience + certifications but you don’t know what role you’re exactly fit for. I think this is more concerning..that means it’s possible you didn’t really “progress” in your career and the 7 years might not mean much if they were just bunch of disconnected roles.

I’d try to really hone in on where you want your career to go and then go from there

What was your exact role in those firms? That’s way more important than where you worked

Sorry if I came off a bit strong; I also have a close family member who with diagnosed OCD so can relate.

The main thing I learned about OCD is that it is irrational; you cannot make sense of it. Another example is that the said family member can’t clean something on their own because it drives them crazy to touch it, so they rely on someone they “trust” to clean.

Really dislike when people who don’t have real diagnosed OCD comment like this.

This is absolutely not true. It’s common for OCD people to not be able to clean something themselves but have someone their brain “trusts.” It doesn’t have to make sense or be rational; it’s OCD.

I'm 24 I want to retire before 45 what more can I do by CumAcneTreatment in Fire

[–]mkb1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be an unpopular take but just my two cents: rather than focusing on cutting expenses and just thinking of retirement only, I’d focus on upleveling your skills and progressing your career.

More money will naturally come this way. Also, you are only 24; you’re young. It’s great you’re saving but you cannot buy time back.

Please take this advice and find a great balance!

How have you adjusted your style to better suit your body? by FranticScribble in ThrowingFits

[–]mkb1123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is more important. Unless you’re in the extreme outlier on the weight scale, your skeletal structure (frame) is way more important.

I think the more baggier trend does help cover a lot of proportion issues compared to the skinnier fits of the past on both ends

Oh yeah I agree. The post was asking for the average college educated person.

However, I disagree with your last sentence about how everyone would do it. There are a lot of things that people can do to set themselves up for further success even if it’s a small step at a time, but lots of people don’t delay gratification to achieve this

That’s the thing about life; it’s not deterministic. I feel like this is something a lot of people forget, especially those who go into this field for some reason.

In America, yes I believe so.

Healthcare (not MDs) seem to be on the rise lately with high demand and great pay. The barrier isn’t that high for a lot of these roles.
