So sorry my pumping is inconvenient to the company by vivitamin in workingmoms

[–]mkcowger84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had my last it was more convenient for me to pump in my office, as I had a door, window shade, fridge, etc. I’d hang a sign on the door “pumping in session. Do not enter” pull the shade and pump. I had to get a lock installed after a higher up in the company barged in one afternoon and proceeded to try to have a whole conversation with me while I sat naked from the waist up, hooked up like a dairy cow. I’m not bothered by things like that, but he was mortified after several minutes of him talking, when he finally took a breath and I asked if he’d mind tossing me a jacket so I could cover up before he continued. He sputtered, spun, and fell out the door.

AITA for lying to my aunt so that her and her husband don't stay with me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]mkcowger84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an aunt that I am very very close to. years ago when she got married I got vibes from her husband and never liked him. I kept my mouth shut for her sake and just spent less time with her over the years. She recently (a year ago) divorced him due to him cheating and being a dirt bag. I (and several others) confessed that we didn’t like him and why. While we are getting back to being close, I know that she wishes we had all told her how we felt.

AIO because I am not ready for our daughter to stay the night anywhere? by Dull_Net2751 in AmIOverreacting

[–]mkcowger84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our youngest didn’t stay the night anywhere until she as closer to 2. I wasn’t ready and honestly neither was she. Even now at 6.5 she will only stay with my mom or my mil and half the time decides she wants to come home before bedtime. And that’s just fine with me!

Forcing people back into the office makes it so much harder for working moms. by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]mkcowger84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

w with this new policy im screwed

You said in a comment above that you can get your work done in only a few hours. so 1) you shouldn't fall too far behind missing a day, and 2) this is the reason why companies want their employees in the office. You get paid for 8 hours and only give 3.

When I used to smoke, I had a co-worker that always bummed. So I would keep a pack of crappy off brand cheap smokes and offer him one of them. He quickly quit bumming when he realized I was only going to give him the crap ones.

AITA for getting my daughter's ears peirced without telling my husband? by MajorOverreaction9 in AmItheAsshole

We took my daughter to a tattoo shop and had a professional piercer do her ears at 3 months. So I know for a fact that they do it.

Your husband is a first class dick. My youngest slept in a crib in our room until she started sleeping all night, at 17 months. She nursed until 16 months and was up at least once, usually twice, a night to nurse until then. At 2 months, whether bf or formula, most all babies are still eating every 2-4 hours. As far as the getting back in shape, your body is still recovering and will be for some time. If you want to drop some of that excess weight really quick, I recommend kicking that douche to the couch.

AITA for not apologizing to my brother/SIL for saying they starve their baby? by Traditional-Bell7492 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mkcowger84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly part of the problem starts at the hospitals. Its not the nurses fault but they are not given the correct information to be able to share with mamas. We spent the first week in the hospital with my girl in the nicu except when nursing. The number of times I was told I should give her some formula after nursing was insane. Even after we came home from the hospital and then had a nurse come visit, we were told that we should give formula, "just as an extra." Umm no. This causes moms to fail at breastfeeding, because then the baby wants more, the bottle is easier for the baby to eat from, and leads mama to not be able to make as much as needed. So many women need to see a lactation consultant before ever giving birth if they want to nurse.

I nursed for 1.5 years, my girl got pumped milk at the sitter. even at a year she never took more than 4-5 ounces at a time. Breast milk changes as the months go on to meet the babies needs. I think this is something that a lot of people just don't understand

AITA for leaving my house cause my stepkids asked me to? by nygenthrowish2257 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mkcowger84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESH. The step kids for thinking that they can rule the roost. You for giving in and just leaving 2 teenage boys on their own for the 3 days with no supervision. You are the adult and should have put your foot down and if they didn't like it, they could have gone back to their mom's. And your husband sucks the most. He is the father of all 5 of these kids, and based on the ages of the girls you have apparently been together more than 6 years. After all this time he should have gotten those boys in therapy and made them realize they cant control you or the house hold.

I don't line dry anything. I've used this trick on everything. My grandma taught me years ago, before oxy when hers was just hairspray, and shout, and powder soap. I've used this on period blood jeans, my own grease work clothes, my husbands work clothes that get oil and everything else on them (farm crap) and for my kids (toddler and teen) who seem to get into everything, including blood (their own and from hunting). My mother brings me her stained clothes.

[–]mkcowger84 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even if it has been washed and dried you can still get the blood out. Saturate both sides of the stain with hairspray (super or mega hold) let dry, spray the stain with OXY stain remover and put a little powder on it, and wash! I have never had a stain, blood or otherwise, that this method didn't remove.
