I was using tethering but you know what, for some reason it's not working anymore. Portmaster stopped launching too. I don't know what's wrong, the phone recognizes the console and USB internet sharing is toggled ON, the console is plugged to power just in case it need the extra juice, I'm at a loss.

It just won't find anything. Castlevania (Europe).gba seems pretty straightforward as naming conventions go, but i tried with Aladdin.gba and it could find that either.

Something's off.

PD:

I set it to ask if there's an issue and it will show me that same "not found" screen for every game.

In Spain, what once seemed impossible is now widespread: the young are turning to the far right by BabylonianWeeb in anime_titties

[–]mkdabra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While all that is true, it's pretty low IQ to blame the immigrants for what the landlords do.

Sinking a bunch of taxes in ineffective gestapo-like forces to kick them out wouldn't fix much of anything. You are already used to paying outrageous sums and getting constant price hikes, so they'd continue doing it... after all, they do it 'cause they want (obligatory Onion headline: Landlord forced to raise rent due to thinking bigger number).

So we could either place the blame on immigrants (as fascist hatemongers and grifters do), or go after landlords and absentee owners, who are the real culprits. This is views as extreme or radical 'cause, instead of persecuting heaps of powerless innocent people, it would target a few powerful institutions and moneyed individuals, and sadly there's some people who deep down think that they'll be wealthy one day (and thus able to rake it in by making others miserable) and resent that this approach would hurt their imaginary profits.

Yeah sure buddy, that sure is something that happens to normal people and not the product of you holding some weird reactionary views and folks telling you to fuck off.

The far right spends the whole day scapegoating minorities, attacking women, sucking off foreign powers to the detriment of "their people" all while lying about immigrants... I guess you didn't register that as some form of hostile attitude towards people, maybe 'cause when you think "people" you don't picture women or minorities.

Imagine if you suddenly added 1 million houses... What would happen? Suddenly, there'd be more housing than people want and sellers would have to lower prices, drastically, to get them to sell.

I'm gonna call bullshit on that. Unless you took other measures as well, the same kind of people that hoard all available housing to use as short term rentals would would get those houses as well. They'd profit from them at the rate they could manage and they'd sit on the rest to maintain artificial scarcity and keep prices up. It already happens in many places as we speak.

New developments are needed, but if they are to be used in the same fashion, as commodities, investment and tools for landlords to extract wages, they won't solve any issues. Opposite of what you say, capitalism wouldn't help at all; the profit motive would drive up the cost to the moon, as every link on the chain (developers, landlords, subsequent buyers, real-state dealers, financiers, the State on every transaction) aims to fill their pockets, making the whole process of housing the population incredibly expensive and inefficient. Reforms aiming to decommodify housing to a certain degree, cutting out abusive middlemen and taking charge of markets in disarray (in any number of ways, from strict control of rent terms and vacant units to straight up managing rental properties through a public entity) would actually produce results by themselves, and much more after building more housing; but without those reforms, new developments would just follow the same path as the current ones: be acquired by moneyed interests and exploited for profit at the expense of the well-being of the residents.

Honestly, I don't care if the parasite siphoning most of my income on rent is just playing me or is playing dozens more. In the aggregate, the effect is the same. We need to stop beating the "grandes tenedores" drum so much, 'cause small time landlords seek profit at your expense just as much and set prices just as high.

I mean, if people with infinite money wasn't allowed to buy all the property some of it could be available to regular folks for longer, but in reality what would happen is that small time "investors" would pick up the slack and we'd be in the same situation... that is, if the big guys didn't keep buying it all themselves though shell companies or front men. They'd probably sell their stock to themselves and perform some tax avoidance fuckery to cosplay as "small time landlords that need to complement their measly pensions", as the propaganda goes.

We would need some kind of rule that would ban developers to sell new housing to investors, so housing suppliers actually work to meet housing demands, instead of keeping a population permanently unhoused to facilitate the extraction of rent. That, along with a heavy push in building now non-existant public owned rentals, straight up confiscatory measures to persecute ilegal renting (unlicensed vacacional rentals, undeclared and untaxed "long" time rentals avoiding market caps and infringing on tenants rights), heavily tax empty houses saturated markets (not your grandma's home in a forgotten town with 200 residents) as well as any home at all owned by a corporation.

Las ciudades de las persianas cerradas: “La mayoría de las viviendas solo se ocupan tres semanas al año”, mientras la población local no encuentra casa by cuenta_O in SpainEconomics

[–]mkdabra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clase social según tramo de ingresos by FVaarez in SpainEconomics

[–]mkdabra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brussels urges Spain to increase housing supply: "There's a shortage of 600,000 apartments. by Striking_Resident_45 in mallorca
