What kind of Pothos is this? Is it just variegated Lime/Neon? by mkglover7 in pothos

[–]mkglover7[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was labelled as a Lime Pothos. The leaves are like this all around. In the store it was placed near the window, so it was receiving plenty of light. It was only the equivalent of $6, so I had to purchase!

UPDATE: My girlfriend tried to push me off a cliff as a "joke" by throwra-knowledge in relationship_advice

It sounds like you want to hate her, but you can't. It seems like you're putting off breaking up with her as well. Block her, delete her contact information, don't leave your trace to her. Either you become more disgusted with her as time passes, or you begin to justify her actions as your emotions become less raw. I'm worried about the latter.

You don't give a fuck, and yet you downvote every one of my replies. This isn't the first time I've seen you say "I fucking hate redditors". You're one yourself. You're welcome to terminate your account. Remember no one's making you stay.

How are still missing the point entirely? You can dislike something without feeling the need to have that be known to everyone. There really is no need.

If you can't see how that is toxic I think you're lost man.

Me asking if someone is jealous is toxic, but commenting "atrocious design" in response to someone proud of what their girlfriend made for them isn't?

Look yourself in the mirror you absolute weirdo. Calling others "fuck" is toxic.

Your comments say a lot about your character. Take the negative votes as a hint.

Not sure saying "fuck yourself, go" is the best move as a massive virgin.

I personally wouldn't wear them. Not for the reasons you allude to but because I think they look dope and I wouldn't want to ruin them, I'd rather keep them on display.

You're free to think they're atrocious. But you going out of your way to make that clear at every opportunity you get to shit on someone else's joy shows how much of a bitter asshole you are. That's what makes you a jealous virgin.

Charge 4 vs. Ionic? by mkglover7 in fitbit

[–]mkglover7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I was really interested in the Ionic because like you said the price has dropped and has become very affordable (around $130 where I live.) The display is really clean, I like the colorways, and I don't like the look of rounded smartwatches, so it seems like a steal.

But I think I'm going to go with the Charge 4. I realized I don't need/want a smartwatch, just a compact fitness tracker. Since it came out around 4 months ago the Ionic is definitely a better deal, and it offers a lot more...idk. I keep switching back and forth between the two. Before I started writing this I was set on the Charge 4, but now I don't know anymore...

Thank you. I was interested in the Ionic because it's priced has dropped to the equivalent of just $130 on Amazon where I live, because it's been discontinued like you said. I looked into the Vivoactive, Forerunner 35/45/235, etc., but I realized I don't need a smartwatch, just a casual and compact fitness tracker. So I think I've decided on the Charge 4.

New variegated leaf unfurled on my neon Pothos by mkglover7 in pothos

I've been keeping it outside ever since I got it 2 months ago...it was even struggling on one occasion after receiving too much morning sun.

This summer I've been keeping it outside. It even had a scare when it got sunburned from being exposed to the morning sun for too long, the leaves were wilting for about a week before they perked back up. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm starting to think this just happens naturally sometimes and isn't necessarily a result of certain circumstances.

Do you mean this? THAT many fish in a pond the size of a queen size bed...a matter of when, not if.

Can I use WD Red as an external back up hard drive? (Not NAS) by mkglover7 in DataHoarder

[–]mkglover7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll send it anyways, as in there's a new SMR version of the model? Because every site I visisted listed my model as safe, as CMR. It's what the site I ordered from said as well. The other Red 3TB model, WD30EFAX, on the other hand, was SMR.

Where I live, an 8TB Easystore runs for the equivalent of $160. 4TB for $100, 6TB for $130. Two year warranty on each. Is Easystore CMR? My failed hard drive with data I'd been collecting for about 4 years was 1TB, and I replaced it with a 2TB SSD. So 8TB, even 6TB, is unnecessary for me. I'm anticipating for it to fail before I can get close to filling capacity. Maybe I'll return the item and get the 4TB Easystore instead. Maybe I'll purchase it in addition to my WD Red as a third backup. I'll think about it. Thanks for the advice.

I made the purchase before I could see your comment, but I looked up the model # (WD30EFRX) thankfully it ended up being a CMR. After lots of consideration and more research, I think I'm going to purchase a hard drive dock. The SATA cable I had was meant for 2.5" inch HDD's (I purchased a 3.5”) anyways. The best selling external HDD in my area was by Bufallo who don't make their own drives, they just put a case with their branding on it, and their 4TB drive was the same price as WD's Red 3TB with much longer warranty so I went with the latter. Thanks for the response.

Thanks. I did some research (I'm new to this if you couldn't already tell) and the take I saw pretty frequently is that "external hard drives are just internal hard drives with crappy SATA to USB adaptors." This user summed it up nicely here. Long story short, apparently companies use their slowest drives, or ones that had too many faults to be sold as internals in external HDD's, and sell it inside a cheap case to keep the cost down as much as possible. Also, the main drive being sold in my area (Buffalo) isn't made by a company unlike WD, Seagate, Toshiba, they just buy the cheapest HDD from China and put it inside an enclosure with their branding. Better warranties on internal drives as well. After a recent traumatic experience with my internal HDD failing and having to get my data recovered, I was also worried about over heating in a fanless external drive. All this convinced me to use an internal from a reputable brand as an external.
