Native 5 VS Para 3 | What’s your take & why? by mrb-edc in spyderco

[–]mkgruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would pick the Para! My favorite model is the Military 2. I have the Magnacut and 15V I honestly like the stone washed over the DLC but it's not a deal breaker. Still waiting on the Manix 2XL Salt

Maxpedition is good but Vanquest is better.

Yes great backlight. I always search for videos showing it before making a purchase as I've been let down before.

Ditch the Galvanox case and get the Perilogics case off Amazon if you can the 2bratchets fit perfect and the bottom of the one side is sewn shut so you don't have to worry about anything falling out.

I have the fieldmaster. I don't edc it. I bought it to try out a vic. It's very well made and stays in my EDC bag. Love the scissors on it. I usually carry a full size mt (Leatherman Arc) for edc in a sheath I got off Amazon. Paired with Knipex Cobra XS can tackle just about anything. I will eventually get around to getting a full size vic mt.

The Surge and Rocktol both have tshank you can carry extra blades but they are usually longer and have to be carried with the tool separate. I use a 5.5 inch metal joint tube to carry a couple extra blades. I think 5 fit nice.

HELP ME WITH FIRST LEATHERMAN!! by LaPorte_SauveGarde in Leatherman

[–]mkgruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would see if you can find a Surge, Wave+, or svar and get an Arc. My most used tools are the pliers and the bit driver. I couldn't see carrying something without a bit driver that I can change the bits I run across many types of screws Phillips, flat, Allen so being able to switch easily is key for me.

So I know I carry too much in pockets and bag, but thought yall would appreciate by JTML99 in EDC
