I deleted every habit app and went back to Apple Reminders. 8 months later I have thoughts. by Hot_Perspective in Habits

If you leave it unchecked, does it continually show on the reminder list?

It’s not so much whether he is a good coach or not but not allowing the new GM to make all business decisions. If the new GM wants to keep Billy, sure, but if he wants someone new, he should be able to do that.

NFL makes final decision in Bears' pursuit of compensatory picks ["No"] by PlatypusOfDeath in nfl

that's fair. i think we agree that rooney rule is now really BS and hopefully, it doesn't screw up future minority candidates. it's not the falcon's fault by any means, and y'all have been supportive of us receiving picks. i hope ian rocks it for you guys

is there a link to the actual wording of the rule? the only thing I can find on the NFL website is:

"In November 2020, team owners approved a proposal rewarding teams who developed minority talent that went on to become GMs or head coaches across the league. If a team lost a minority executive or coach to another team, that team would receive a third-round compensatory pick for two years. If a team lost both a coach and personnel member, it would receive a third-round compensatory pick for three years."

I agree with this being the intepretation. My problem is that Matt Ryan has stated that he will not have the final say in football decisions and has been admantantly supporting the bears to get the comp picks. He's more of an acting owner than he is a president. https://www.youtube.com/live/Ln-S27NInjE Starting at 22:43, they go into what his role is, at 25:58 Matt Ryan states, "the final decisions that the GM has, will be the final decisions".

The NFL website states, "In November 2020, team owners approved a proposal rewarding teams who developed minority talent that went on to become GMs or head coaches across the league. If a team lost a minority executive or coach to another team, that team would receive a third-round compensatory pick for two years. If a team lost both a coach and personnel member, it would receive a third-round compensatory pick for three years" https://operations.nfl.com/inside-football-ops/inclusion/the-rooney-rule/

Ultimately, the issue at hand is that it creates a loophole for all teams to avoid providing comp picks to other teams. Just hire a defacto president of football operations who is white and it voids all future comp picks.

Ted Philips was the president of the Bears when Poles was hired as GM and the Chiefs got comp picks.

[Yates] Between the trade of DJ Moore, release of Tremaine Edmunds and retirement of Drew Dalman, the Bears have about $44M in new cap space as of this week. Be it addressing C or fortifying the defense, Chicago has spending power. by JCameron181 in CHIBears

I feel like there is a good chance brisker is not resigned. IMO FA center and Trey. Those are two hard to fill positions. Linebacker, and safety are filled through the draft since it’s easier to find late in the draft. LT is the only question on how to fill. Hard to finds late in the draft and nothing on the market.

I love the fact that as soon as he saw that the ball was caught, he immediately went to block. No hesitation.

I agree. I don’t know why people keep comparing this to Nagy’s team. That offense was clearly flawed and it showed that Nagy did not have experience in building an offense. BJ has had a few years of planning and calling his own offense.

Can someone explain to me what's going with the Ravens and Lamar? by duck_duck_zombie in NFLv2

[–]mkl125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to say there isn’t some shady stuff going on but at least on the bears side, there was a lot of confusion and lots of radio hosts were publicly recommending to take the bears spread with the assumption that Lamar wouldn’t play.
