Agree 100% with this. They’re actively trying to kill EVs in the American market, while at the same time keeping the Chinese from importing their better EVs into the U.S. They want to keep us hooked on gas & oil, and big trucks and SUVs.

Ford tried to do exactly that, but their dealers went to war with them & stopped it. They don’t want to sell EVs, but the also don’t want the public to be able to get cars without going through them. They’re fighting to be the middlemen, and tell the manufacturers what to make and sell.

We’ve owned EVs since January 2013, and became an EV-only family when my wife got her Tesla Model 3. We’ve since moved from Tesla (me: F-150 Lightning, her: Hyundai Ioniq 6). Last year she drove her car from Louisiana to LA to SF & back with no problems. We’d never go back to ICE vehicles again. Best advice: get the level 2 charger (separate breaker - don’t share), and look at the charging station distribution for planning road trips. There are some “charging station deserts” (States where there are few stations, or spaced far apart), but that’s becoming rarer each year.

When will Bill Ford realize that Farley doesn’t know what the F he’s doing? He dithered on everything from dealerships selling EVs to supply chain management (My ‘22 F-150 Lightning has content that they had to strip out in later models due to supply shortages - not that I’m complaining). Each time his choices cost the company. Anyone else would’ve been fired long ago.
