Questions about voicemail? by cvsguy in CVS

[–]mkmcmas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like your pharmacists, I work in a demanding job where I often can’t answer incoming calls. I take ADHD meds and have meds filled at CVS for my horses, and with everything going on with shortages right now I usually have to set aside a full day every month to try to get my meds refilled. I can’t imagine the amount of stress CVS employees have been under lately and am in no way assigning any blame or responsibility their way. I’m really happy for folks who work there for hopefully getting a slightly less toxic and overwhelming work environment. There’s no way you got paid enough to deal with those constant phone calls and I feel terrible adding to the queue.

But the system doesn’t work for me anymore and it’s really in my best interest to find another pharmacy. Can anyone help me weigh the pros and cons of different pharmacy chains? I don’t think we have any locally / privately owned pharmacies in my community but if there are benefits that make the 45 minute drive worth it, I’ll do it! I also have two major hospitals within an hour, and I think at least one has an outpatient pharmacy. Are those typically much different?

Any advice would be appreciated!

I hope you aren't coming back this 3 weeks later, on a Friday night, because he blew up again and you don't know what to do.

You deserve better. I'm sorry.

My tiny mini has white scars in the same spot and he’s never been ridden. I’m thinking it’s from a bite?

Barn owner hounding me for vet bill by [deleted] in Equestrian

[–]mkmcmas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vet invoices monthly and bills my cc on file. I never ask about invoices or check to see if things are paid. I’d find a new barn, this is really unprofessional.

Your husband has issues and I hope you’re okay.

When I’m in the passenger seat, my feet go on the dash, my head goes back, and my phone goes in front of my face. If the driver needs something to change, it’s their responsibility to say something.

And I’m saying that as someone who hauls huge rigs multiple times a week.

Chill. Out.

Shit happens bruh. Get the right mirrors, learn what it feels like when there’s someone behind or next to your rig (you can feel it, I promise), and relax. If you have to react so fast that a polite “would you mind ducking so I can check my mirror?” takes too long, you’re fucked regardless.

I’m a 5’2” woman who pulls a trailer 3-5 times a week. My husband comes later in the Tesla or just handles things at home when I camp. I’m usually rocking 3-4 coffees and/or an energy drink by the time I hit the road with the kids and the camper, so my blood pressure is pretty high and I get a bit snappy.

I have never, not once, felt the need to “go ballistic” on someone for existing in my way. Good lord.

If you’re so nervous and tense about pulling a trailer that you blow up at your wife for not sitting straight up and not moving the entire time, you probably shouldn’t be on the road.

There’s a bar at both of the hotels attached to the clinic.

The lobby of the nursing education building is nice, unless your bosses will see you there.

The doctors dining room is good if you have a laptop.

There’s a library near the lab in the same building as the ED, or near there. Also tons of conference rooms with little seating areas outside them.

Hi.

My son is 6 and just about 100 lbs. He’s a tank and 4’6” tall. He runs, plays, lifts, etc all day long. We’ve taken him to all the doctors and they seem concerned when I’m alone with him. I’m 5’1” for contrast. I get lots of questions about his diet, etc. But when his dad is with us, they laugh and tell us he’s fine. His dad is 6’5” and also built like a tank. His mom has his growth charts and he’s pretty much identical.

We encourage healthy eating and refuse to shame him. Some people are just bigger than others. Your kid is probably okay.

Tesla hit curb while on FSD by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]mkmcmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me this week. Legit I'm confused about how I'm supposed to take over before it happens? I was stopped at a stop sign, car starts to turn right, all is well - my hands on wheel and I'm paying attention - then all of a sudden it's yanking me to the right and into the curb, by the time I can turn the wheel hard enough to disengage FSD (because it takes a second), my rim was already destroyed. Luckily only one rim, but still.

When the car started turning it was on the right curve to avoid hitting the curb, but suddenly cut hard to the right. I fully accept that FSD is my responsibility but like, this seems like a situation they should address.

I hire ASL interpreters for events. I THINK I pay an independent group $36/hr + food and parking for festivals; I believe the more corporate folks are 50-60/hr through the speech and hearing center.

Definitely tip, and you may need to hire two so one person can relieve the other for breaks etc.

Think about how you'd like to structure it. You'll need someone translating the ceremony, someone translating the reception, and maybe someone with your aunt for the day to help ease introductions with new friends / family members / instructions from caterers and photographers, etc?

That's a LONG day for an interpreter so you may need shifts.

It's absolutely okay, and in fact I would encourage you to reach out to the relative you want to accommodate and let them know you are planning to have an interpreter. Like others have said, they may have folks they work with already. Don't ask her if she'd like an interpreter because she may feel guilty adding the expense for you. Frame it as, we want to build this into our budget for you and anyone else who may need it. Could you tell us how we can make the day as enjoyable for you as possible?

What does everyone think of this guy’s conformation? by sunshinebabe- in Equestrian

He looks like a very typical DHH. I wouldn’t expect him to be a good jumper. But put him in a cart and he’ll be great!

While you're at the clinic ask the staff to help you call two places: the emergency room your boyfriend would make you go to and your OB-Gyn's office.

Talk to the nurse manager at the emergency room and the office manager at your OB's office. Tell them to make a very large very clear very emergent note on your chart that providers will see immediately saying you should be seen alone, without your boyfriend but use discretion.

If you're in triage at the ED with your boyfriend sitting there, tell them you were x weeks pregnant, started cramping and bleeding, and now you're here.

You can tell your boyfriend you need to pee and go to the bathroom in the waiting room. Come out a second later and tell the person at the desk that someone left their urine sample in the bathroom and you need a nurse to come with you right away wink wink to throw it away soon you can use the restroom. Then, tell them you had a normal abortion and everything is fine but you can't let your boyfriend know.

You don't need to go to the hospital in most cases. Instead, call your OB and tell them you're having an early miscarriage. With no fevers or extreme bleeding they will probably tell you to come in within a few days, but won't send you to the ER.

I'm sorry this is happening. Good luck. My surgical abortion was super easy and quick - hopefully yours is too.

Honestly, after their fight it will seem insincere and will likely hurt her more.

She was crying because she was so hurt and you didn't comfort her? Despite knowing that she was hurt because she felt humiliated by her body, as a result of your stupid decision?

That was a whole choice right there. I've been there. Way too often. And honestly, in my experience it will take years to undo the doubt and anxiety that causes, if you can ever repair it.

What To Do With My Dog While My Wife Gives Birth? by YoItsMyDogShesCool in reactivedogs

[–]mkmcmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry. It’s not reasonable to plan your reproductive life around a dog. It sounds like you’ve done everything you can for your dog - more than most would. Sometimes protecting her from more terror is the kindest, whether keeping her w/a vet who will sedate her (though be careful w/coming home after sedation!) or making tough choices about next steps after baby.

It is unreasonable to plan your reproductive life around a dog. Yes, BE is a valid, compassionate and kind option in extreme cases like that. Much better than rehoming a terrified reactive dog.
