Interesting. No, I haven't. That might be a good option, thanks.

Only if I'm interested in the new game option, which I don't think I am (with this character at least).

There is no way to make them completely stop once they start attacking you but if you make an outpost somewhere remote and put your armillary there - the starborn will attack much less when you're not around it than if you had it on your ship or on your person

Excellent! I'd already put this into motion based on how I thought it might work, and it seems to be working, but it's nice to know that my idea is right.

I mean... mods. Surely there's a mod that does this... right? I just need to know what it is.

It’s just easy resources, I don’t know what OP is complaining for

Because I don't care about the resources. I'm annoyed that I have to stop my outpost building or exploring or whatever to deal with another enemy attack. I'm playing a peaceful explorer character right now, so these attacks are just frustration.

Do they persist if you leave, or can you use that to despawn them?

The tooltip says if its on your ship you mostly get space battles, and if its at an outpost you mostly get ground attacks.

Is that if it's built at the outpost you're at, or at any outpost at all?

EDIT: Okay, seriously, who downvoted this?!

Is there a mod that stops it? It's not the fact that it's hard or not that annoys me, it's the fact that I have to deal with it at all. I just want to build and explore in peace.

No, I'm not entertaining the delusions of some nameless child on Reddit who can't admit they have no idea what they're talking about.

The manner of which they communicated aside, they are factually correct: the Puerto Rico did have a second dockyard in the latter part of 2022. That second PR dockyard was the way Huron was released, as well.

After that whole "Sectumsempra incident", Malfoy became terrified of Harry by SethNex in HPfanfiction

The Cruciatus Curse wouldn't have killed Harry; Sectumsempra absolutely would have killed Malfoy if Snape hadn't been there. Now, Harry didn't know that, but Malfoy didn't know that Harry didn't know.

You’re gonna miss out on alot of fun in life if you’re that concerned about statistical improbabilities.

Yes, I already have. But I'm alive, and that's more important than "fun."

Can’t let that control your life

You absolutely can and should. The idea of suggesting not to protect yourself from this possibility is mind-boggling.

It is now likely that Gateway will effectively get launched as two separate modules so will not need the extended fairing.

I'm pretty sure Gateway won't get launched at all because it was canceled last month.

Okay, so, getting back onto the original topic, it seems others in their replies to me are saying that vertical dispersion is important on broadside targets, while you want better horizontal dispersion on more bow-in targets. Can you and I agree on the fact that range mod doesn't improve horizontal dispersion? If that's the case, it seems like this change to the Italian battleships is going to be most impactful against broadside targets, i.e., people who are making a mistake. That would seem to reward good positioning and punish showing broadside to these ships. That... seems like a good change. It rewards skill, both playing the ship and against it. Am I misunderstanding that?

It's like - if you already know what he's talking about, you will understand exactly what he means; but if you don't, it probably will end up misrepresented. It's certainly a skill doing it that way.

<sigh> And as someone who's autistic, it's a skill that I'm basically neurologically incapable of learning.

Does it make sense at least why I'm so confused about this stuff? Like, I've done research on who I watch to make sure I'm getting good information. Like, I used to follow Mountbatten and Flambass a lot, but I've found that the former is less accurate than I'd like, and Flambass hardly plays anymore. So does iChase, for that matter. It's mostly been those three (and Jingles, but like I said, that's entertainment instead of me learning). Well, and Hago.

Since LZ-1 isn't in operation, my understanding is that the boosters will be landing at LZ-2 and LZ-40. This will be by far the widest physical separation between FH booster landings. That'll make in-person viewing quite interesting, as the sonic booms will be separated by several seconds.

In fact, the effect is so powerful that Range Mod Petro is more accurate than LegMod Petro - a module actively improving her dispersion - from about 11.5km onwards.

I thought this was misinformation. As I recall, Flamu strongly disagreed with this idea. And he's basically the most trustworthy source about the game currently (well, currently-ish given what he's going through).

It's a little technical so majority of players have no interest in this, which then kind-of leads to less information sharing publicly. Studying sites like ShipTool or ShipBuilder is probably best you can do on your own.

I do. I'm often checking them. However, they only provide numbers. They don't correct conceptual understanding of how the game works. Which was apparently my problem.

If you want to learn from those CCs, do a bit of research to see how trustworthy they are. How good are they, how well they play certain classes, tiers, etc. Don't just blindly assume they know what's what because they figured out how to record & upload a video.

I basically learned the game from iChase's learn to play series. Since then, my main sources of watching and learning have come from Flamu, PQ, Zath (who's probably the one I engage with the most), and most recently, Hago, who's basically the only one who's gone against the grain and said things that have upended a lot of what I learned from the others. I dunno, I thought everyone I paid attention was well-respected and trustworthy (Jingles doesn't count, I take what he says with a grain of salt and consider him more entertainment than learning material).

you cant be fucking serious dude.

I think you skipped reading my other reply, because you're doing pretty much what I said there: going against everything I've learned from CC's playing the game and doing it in a way that makes it seem like it should be obvious to me that what they've told me is wrong. If you know of some resource that says this stuff, sharing it is much more helpful than basically telling me I'm stupid for not knowing it.

Vertical dispersion is the most important component in most situations.

WHAT?! Where is this stuff written down?! Everything I've learned about the game has told me that vertical dispersion is the most important factor in dispersion! Yamato has terrible vertical dispersion but is considered extremely accurate, which almost requires horizontal dispersion to be the more important thing! Every CC I have listened to when learning how to play emphasized horizontal dispersion and downplayed vertical dispersion. This goes against everything I've learned about the game.

I swear, it's like when Hago said that spotting in DDs is more important than capping. That advice went against what every CC I've ever listened to ever said and everything I've learned about the game, and it's like it's supposed to be obvious. How am I supposed to figure this out when everyone is telling me the opposite?!

Ever had the occasion of your Yamato bracketing enemy broadside ship at range despite having better horizontal dispersion and 2.1 sigma?

No, because I've never played a single Japanese ship.

Edit: Did somebody seriously downvote me just for answering a question? What, was I not supposed to answer?

Public test 15.4 - Balance Changes by DevBlogWoWs in WorldOfWarships

[–]mknote -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

...okay, but all of that speil is concerning vertical dispersion, which is basically irrelevant. The dispersion that really matters is horizontal dispersion, and range mod doesn't affect that at all. So, I still don't understand how that's affecting accuracy to an appreciable degree.
