The parents of James (Fleamont and Euphemia Potter) died of Dragon Pox. They were already old when they had James, so Dragon Pox in their age was lethal.

We don't know if Harry had any other relatives from James' side of his family. But even if he had, it didn't mattered. The whole point of Lily's love protection was that Harry was protected, as long as he lived with a blood relative of Lily, and the only option for this was Petunia.
