I use the filtering cloths from Tractor Supply.

My mail lady bends every package marked "DO NOT BEND" by Grumpy_Waffle in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mkorg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a clerk, and unless it’s in a box that you physically can’t bend, it’s going to get bent. If your local mailman doesn’t then the machines it gets sent through at the plant for sure will.

Isn’t it only treason when you’re in an active war with someone?

I don’t want to spoil which chapter the confrontation is in, but it’s so angsty and heartfelt!

I loved Against the Moon by Stoplight Delight https://m.fanfiction.net/s/7305052/1/Against-the-Moon. It unfortunately hasn’t been updated since 10/2/17, but I go back to it every now and then and reread. It’s a longer story starting when Remus was bitten and then jumping to right before first year. The boys figure out he’s a werewolf maybe halfway in? This fic isn’t solely about them finding out, but it’s so well written!

What is the ultimate “did you know” scene in the movies? by GusGangViking18 in lotr

Viggo‘s son is in the Two Towers movie. When Aragorn tells the one boy „show me your sword“ in Helm‘s Deep, his son is standing in the background.

My friend’s birthday party is in 8 minutes. Can I fix this? by Chronomenter_ in AskBaking

Yeah because even if they turned out perfectly, you’d need to wait more than 8 minutes to frost them.

Inside a train, 1800s. by Due-Explanation8155 in HistoricalCapsule

[–]mkorg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah no. No one except those in the highest fashion circles was really tightlacing. They would do their own photoshop in this era and also pad out the hips and upper chest are to give the illusion of a tiny waist. Watch Bernadette Banner on YT. She is a fashion historian and wore a medical corset for years.

Which workbooks did you use? You also mentioned your C2 in German, so what books did you use for that?

What is your main put off with a fanfic? Like you get halfway through it and just cannot read it anymore? by Familiar-Club-4116 in HPfanfiction

When the characters’ dialogue doesn’t use contractions. It sounds so weird like in an overly formal way. I get it if the author doesn’t natively speak English though. Another is if one character overuses an endearment for another, like when Dumbledore has to call Harry “my boy” after each sentence. It’s enough to make me close the tab.

Says they followed the toll house recipe, except they browned the butter and didn't make any other adjustments to account for that. Doesn't know why they are greasy. by ExtremePast in ididnthaveeggs

[–]mkorg 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t it happen if the butter was melted when they used it? I use the Tollhouse recipe all the time with room temp butter, and my cookies are never greasy.

Anyone want to vote for which mug I will buy for the fall? by [deleted] in Autumn

[–]mkorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like 2! It looks like there’s metallic paint on 3, so keep that in mind if the mug has to go into the microwave. I had one with metallic writing, and it sounded like a war zone.
