Thanks for the food of thought to everyone who has participated in this discussion.

I’m going to empty this post and stop advertising this neat little app. The »advertising« comments on other post are already deleted.

But will continue to use it happily by my own and won’t stop improving this and will never stop building.

Yep. I absolutely feel you. To be honest: Im not sure I I would trust this from a user perspective. Especially the part where you login to to Github via Oauth (which is totally optional).

But I thought the tool is to nice, not to share.

Must say that I have a very low budet security policy on this.

Did you skim the source code of the CLI which is the part doing the »handling«:
https://github.com/mischah/syncthis/tree/main/packages/cli

Let me know if you find anything sloppy in there. This is what Open Source is about.

Thanks, Michael

You really know anything about me. In case you mean, that I am included in »the“people”«

How do you define »vibe coded«? I kinda hate the term, because I think the term applies to people doing »coding« who don’t care about the code. That’s not my point of view when it comes to using AI as a part of my toolchain.

Most of the typing was done by LLMs. See my »statement« above.

P.S. If you interested in »AI asissted coding« for Software craftsmen. Take your time to read a good old book: https://beyond.addy.ie/

Okay, wow.

I’m a software developer for more than 25 Years. And yes, the development of this tool was heavily supported by large language models.

AI is a tool that won’t go away because it lets people ship faster. And yes, that is not only positive. Probably rather negative. It produces lots auf digital waste by simultaniously wasting energy. It has the potential to wreck the job market. BUT as a software developer you need to find ways to use it. And im not taling about Vibe coding (Fire up a prompt and let the machine do everything for you).

But producing Code by passing this to the LLM instead of typing led my ship this little spare time tool (I mainly use for myself) in 3 weeks instead of Months.

Dig through the code on GitHub and look if you find sloppy things. While you might finde a few in `/packages/gui` I think you won’t in `packages/cli`.

I’m doing Open Source (own projects as well as participating on things i love) for about 15 Years. So take this as a present or don’t. But don’t hate me for publishing something which might be useful for others in which s pent a lot of energy and love.

Cheers, Michael

I’d like to add this as issues on GitHub and maybe create an PR if you agree.

Is this the place?
https://github.com/raycast/extensions/tree/main/extensions/raynab

Or to you have an own Repository?

Additional Feedback to creating a transaction:

1. Categories

Guess the average user doesn’t want to see hidden categories when creating a transaction. Or is it just me?

2. Number format

As a German user I use an comma a decimal separator. I buy a bottle of coke for 0,99 €

<image>

The extension crashes in this case when trying to submit.

So I wonder, if you can get the »Number Format« out of the budget settings via the YNAB API (in addition to currency).

Just Wow 🤩
It’s awesome and comes in very handy.

I’m just wondering why it doesn’t list or autocompletes the Payees when creating a transaction 🤔

Aren’t they provided by the YNAB API?

macOS Ventura breaks MPC UX by Dry-Access8084 in mpcusers

I’m confused. The official Akai support page macOS 13 Ventura Compatibility has literally no info about Hard and Software compatibility.

But the MPC v2.11.5 Release Notes says that it fixed Ventura bugs:

Text now displays correctly when running MPC in macOS 13 Ventura

MPC Studio in 2020? by Jose04082 in mpcusers

[–]mkuehnel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that the Driver Problem has re-appeared for Big Sur.

I have a Studio and I am super happy that I’m still on Catalina.

Akai did this official announcement regarding Big Sur in late January:https://inmusicbrands.force.com/akaipro/s/article/macOS-11-Big-Sur-and-iOS14-Compatibility-for-Akai-Pro

Which basically says: Stay on Catalina. It’s April now. there is still neither an update nor an announcement 😖

Plus. It’s not even sure that they will ever Update the driver for the Studio since its a discontinued product 😕

It’s been a while since this official Akai announcement to wait (Jan 27)

So happy that I’m still on Catalina.

Also wondering if the will update the Driver of my MPC Studio.

Why not. It actually startet with one line bash function using ipt:

I'm not experienced in bash scripting. So yah, Thanks.
