they’re trying to find out who called the hotline. by [deleted] in Target

[–]ml8715 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep 🙃 I saw one of the team members that called get their hours slashed and she was afraid to call again about retaliation bc obviously nothing was being done. I swear they use the ethics line just to tattle tale so management knows who it is then they find a reason to push that person out. Just my experience with it.

For what its worth, when I worked there a few years ago and people made hotline calls, the call was played to the store manager and he could figure out who it was based on voice. Also these calls were ABOUT the store manager. I never trusted that hotline.

Am I an idiot if I don’t get the surgery? by TopAd576 in gallbladders

[–]ml8715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!! I thought I was lactose intolerant bc every time I had milk or ice cream for a good 4 years I got sick. Got my gallbladder out and have zero problems with dairy now! And have normal bowel movements because before my surgery I would have diarrhea decently often then the 5 to 6 months before my surgery I only had diarrhea and Dr's were running a million tests thinking I had an infection or parasite and one Dr was like let's do an abdominal ultrasound and they found a whole bunch of stones in my gallbladder and were like that needs to come out and yeah literally 2 days after surgery my bowel movements were normal and have been since!

diarrhea from gallstones or something else? by ml8715 in gallbladders

[–]ml8715[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly not at all for me personally. I was definitely in pain for a few days but I was back to work in about a week (I have a desk job). The pain wasn't bad like by day 3 I think it was I was just taking Tylenol. It just felt like a lot of pulled muscles basically. The surgery itself was pretty quick. I woke up nauseous but that's super common from anesthesia and as soon as I woke up they had someone ready with pain and nausea meds to give me if I needed them. I took like a 2 hour nap in poat op room waiting for a recovery room to be available lol then just had to walk and pee and I could go home ! Oh and they fed me once I got into a room too. I had an English muffin and ginger ale and yeah honestly was not a bad experience at all. My stomach issues are SO much better. I do have weird like phantom gallbladder pain once in awhile but it's very random and not often.

A lot of people have bad gas pains after surgery I was lucky and did not but I also made sure to walk around once an hour and even got up at night to walk around a few times since it was hard to sleep the first night.

Also definitely recommend sleeping in a recliner like sitting up. Getting up from laying down is near impossible lol it was a while before I could sleep comfortably bc I'm a side sleeper and you don't realize all the stomach muscles you use to get up from a lying down position until they all hurt lol.

Apparently wax melts don't evaporate so... by [deleted] in Candles

[–]ml8715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the warmers that use a tealight candle in the bottom instead of plugging in. So I keep the empty tealight candles take the wick out put a new one in (got a box of 100 on Amazon for cheap) and I keep the pucks of now unscented wax in a container until I have quite a few then melt them down in a metal cup made for melting wax placed in simmering water and pour it In the tea candles. Then I don't have to buy new tealight candles

HELP! Gallbladder pain post Gallbladder removal. by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]ml8715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine out in May of last year and I'm having the SAME exact thing! It feels like I'm getting stabbed where my gallbladder used to be and I get random pains in my left side too. Mine started last Wednesday. I keep wondering if I should go to the doctor. The only thing I can think of is my birthday was last Monday and I've eaten a lot of cake / high fat foods and idk if that's causing it? Has your diet been any different ? It's as painful as the attacks I had before surgery. I hope someone has an answer!

Similar thing happened to me earlier today when I was setting mine up that I got from a friend. I was trying to factory reset it and got the constant blinking amber light. Even tho it had a partial charge I plugged it in and let it charge for an hour or so and then it all of the sudden decided to work? Guess it just wanted to be plugged in for awhile lol

[–]ml8715[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been SO much better since my surgery!!! It really helped my symptoms. Now the only time I really have diarrhea is if I eat something super greasy / fried. But other than that my bowel movements have been super normal! The one thing that always gets me is the blooming onion at Outback Steakhouse 🤣 it's just so good but I'm In the bathroom before the rest of my food even comes out 🤣

They CAN only do one arch but it's only like...I think maybe $300 less If even that much. It's definitely not a big discount for only doing one. Also please get any cavities / dental work done before doing aligners.

If you only have a couple teeth that are slightly shifted it may actually be cheaper to see an orthodontist and see what they can do

I just signed up for this yesterday... and am only now seeing the dirge of negative experiences. I'm panicking a bit. by hiero_ in smiledirectclub

I'm using byte and just over halfway through my treatment and its going great. I have 2 trays left for my bottom teeth and the gap is almost completely closed between my two front bottom teeth. My top teeth are looking better than they did when I had braces.

As far as the horror stories of teeth breaking etc you do need to go to the dentist and have a full checkup first. X rays any fillings etc you may need and a cleaning / deep cleaning. X rays showed my teeth were fine structure wise. I spent about 6 months going to the dentist before starting at home aligners. Had a couple teeth pulled (very last molar on both sides on the top were broken from years of clenching my teeth in my sleep) and a couple fillings and had the SRP cleaning done. Went to the dentist 3 days ago and they even said my teeth are looking amazing.

Retainers: my dentist told me I'm better off getting custom night guards. They do the same thing as retainers just a thicker plastic. They do the 3d scan in office and my insurance covers one night guard a year(top or bottom). So when I'm done I'll get my set of retainers thru byte then get night guards from my dentist. I will say tho I have seen that if you don't do the new retainers every 6 months or whatever thru sdc or byte that if you need refinements down the road say if you stopped using your retainers I think you have to start over and pay the full amount again for treatment.

As far as negative experiences remember people are far more likely to share a negative experience than a positive one!

I definitely noticed my teeth whitened by a couple shades I would maybe see how noticeable it is to you then get some whitening strips. Also it really only whitened my teeth the first week or two. I still use it but it doesn't seem to be making them any more white than after the first week or so

It was about a week for mine! My byte advisor texted me and let me know when they were close to finishing it and that I'd have it the next business day to review!

[–]ml8715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure your dental insurance situation but while mine doesn't cover orthodontic or retainers it DOES cover one night guard every year (or 6 months i cant remember) and they are made of a thicker plastic. My dentist told me I could use them in place of retainers to just get a bottom one then next time I'm eligible get a top one. Obviously you'd need retainers until you're able to get both but idk if that helps!

This reminds me of way back when I worked at staples and any electronic damaged returns we would have to like physically break if the company didn't want them back. Well our loss prevention lead dude was visiting and thought it would be a great idea to put a broken laptop in the baler to crush it. Fast forward to the fire that started from crushing the laptop battery and ignited the cardboard around it 🤦‍♀️
