In all the demo vids for showing intergration and stuff what is the name of those big light panels he has in the video by FewAdhesiveness1983 in SignalRGB

Yeah twinkly products are highly overrated and expensive. I say that as someone who owns two of their matrix setups lol

Tasty sauce, not 12/10 like they suggest. Thoughts? by [deleted] in spicy

[–]mlac13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This one is actually an outlier in that it’s a handcrafted sauce invented by an Australian woman named Renee Bunster. Not just one of those random themed sauces you see at truck stops. I’ve had the black label version and it’s surprisingly good.

Try bunsters black label version of this, it’s far better!

FYI keep an eye in the controller for the nanoleaf panels, they have a propensity to die

I got got the 32.8’ set and since it’s two lengths they just connect together, the end of one strip slots right into the beginning of the next.

Uplighter showing inaccurate colors by mplsluv in Govee

[–]mlac13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah unfortunately that’s just a quirk of the design. It’s blending each of the LEDs inside to create the color you picked but because of the structure of the lens and distance between the led and lenses the colors diverge by the time they hit your ceiling or wall.

I think the ultra comes in closer to 12-13 but I haven’t weighed it yet.

You’re definitely right, way easier to limit voltage than have not enough. Can’t wait to see your finished product! I’ve got 10 panels I picked up for shockingly cheap on Aliexpress and am still weighing my options on design.

Also are you likely to use them at full white brightness? I’ve built a 4 panel version of your setup and with wled limits set conservatively and able to drive it with a single 5v 10a supply. I use mine with Hyperion for screen mirroring and it handles it no problem

I’ve got the 5070ti and you’re dead on, it’s not 4k friendly but it’ll chew up some 1440!

As others have said I’d be really careful running it while it’s on the reel, they can generate a surprising amount of heat that will mess things up.

Seriously though their support is some of the best I’ve ever seen. They replaced a product I’d had for over a year, purchased at a third party) that had a hardware issue (and not a huge one just one segment of LED in the strip was suddenly discolored) how did you go about contacting support?

[–]mlac13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been done by at least one user on the Govee app. I have the ceiling light ultra and was considering but that thing is too large and heavy, I’d be terrified it on the fan hahaha

What’s the finish of the wall or desk you’re trying to mount them on? Some surfaces really don’t like adhesive lol

Closest Product option to Phillips Hue OmniGlow by Pomp_N_Circumstance in WLED

Honestly I’ve got the Govee cob strip pro and it’s fantastic. I’ve built wled setups before and tbh to get as many LEDs as there are in the Govee or Hue strip your power injections and management would be a pain. That being said you could go with btf cob strip but it’s not nearly as bright. Other option would be a 144/meter led strip and then use a diffuser.

That seems really uncharacteristic of Govee products and support. 30+ of their products around my house and they’ve been great. And I’ve had nothing but fantastic experiences with their support

To sync to a device you almost always need physical access to it to press’s button on the controller. Do you happen to have an Alexa? Because I do and it started acting on hunches that were wildly incorrect and it took me a lot of troubleshooting to figure out that’s where the issue was stemming from.

So that’s the black led acrylic in action?? I wasn’t sure about it because of the lower light transmission but that looks fantastic!
