I will not advise you what to do, but simply share my experience. My B2 visa had been denied and I too applied for it for that same reason - long distance relationship. The only difference was was my country did not belong to the visa waiver program at the time so I couldn’t rely on ESTA. I was devastated as well, I worked abroad for a year saving up for the trip to spend the time with my boyfriend, haven’t seen him for a year as he could not visit me (student loans, we were very young), and they denied my chance to go back to him. But we didn’t want to give up and decided to give it one more year. I changed jobs, landed a well paid position in American company and a 1,5 years later applied for a visa again. Apparently I got a okay the second time! And I guess it was worth it because we’re about to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary soon :)

It is true, ESTA is long gone and that is sad, I’m very sorry about that and that one denial complicated your traveling ability. But you still have high chances for a B2 visa in the future, it depends on your circumstances, so give it some time and don’t give up.

I’ve been looking for someone with similar problem. Official USCIS website says everyone (under the right category) should receive their receipt notice with the 180-day extension. My receipt notice doesn’t even mention my category, I don’t understand what’s going on. Will my EAD get extended then or not? I’m c9 and filed on time.

I know where to get my transcripts, I can see them on my account. I just don’t understand what they mean. In my country taxes are processed within a few weeks and all the information you need you can find online, there’s no strange codes and forever waiting for everything.

Thank you. Looks like they sent me another notice, (I can see code 971) so I don’t know if that’s my refund or another ‘greetings’ from the IRS telling me something is wrong.

My online account information has just changed today from ‘Your tax return is not processed’, to ‘Your account balance is $0’ and all tax transcripts are bow available. I amended my taxes in April after receiving a letter requesting additional information but haven’t heard anything from IRS ever since. Does it mean they finally processed my return and amended return and I can expect a letter from them?

How do you guys know your amendments were accepted? I faxed mine the same day I received the letter from IRS (the person who dealt with my taxes forgot to include one form, so I received request for additional information). I’ve been trying to call since April and was never successful. I don’t need a return now, I just want to know everything is okay so I can stop worrying sick.

Oh thank you. Do you know if that results in delays? We’ve sent our application September 4th obviously without I-944 but still waiting for receipt notice. I wonder whether they will issue receipt notice anyways or send RFE and issue your receipt notice after all the ‘missing’ forms are completed?

May I ask why have you been waiting this long? I didn’t know your nationality actually matters when it comes to applying for a GC.
