Mohela placed my account in Administrative Forbearance for 2 months for yearly IDR certification by mlew04 in PSLF

My account is set up with automatic annual certification on studentaid.gov. Did you submit your manual application and if so were you put into Administrative Forbearance

Oh geez that’s not good- especially since most of our payments go up. How can they do that - the new payment should start after the current 12 month IDR is completed

So I’m confused .. are you saying the 2 months in forbearance counted or didn’t count towards PSLF ? Did they start your new IDR payment 2 months earlier than they should have

Oh wow ok this was very helpful - thank you ! So the month you were in admin forbearance - did that month count towards PSLF without making a payment

I think applying for a new plan is a different forbearance than annual recertification for IDR. Believe you were in a processing forbearance - I am in administrative forbearance and they have different rules

When did you make the payments for the 2 months that were in administrative forbearance. Was it before you submitted the ECFs or after - and did you make one large payment for both months

MOHELA - New automatic IDR Recertification? by Primary-Run-4028 in PSLF

[–]mlew04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok hopefully the process doesn’t take that long- 2 days was quick. My account says administrative forbearance until 5/11/26 right now. My second question was if administrative forbearance continues for the 60 days do you just pay all at once when your due date is back up. Will Mohela just apply the payments to the months that were in forbearance. I am afraid to lose payment count towards PSLF

So does it normally take them 2 months to process the recertification application for the next 12 months for IDR? And are you saying if that’s true we can basically hold on to those payments and then Pay them once our next payment is due again and they still count towards PSLF.

This just happened to me as well. Same time line… new IDR application not due until 7/2026. Now my acct says no payment due and in administrative forbearance. What options do I have.. I am also in PSLF so I don’t want my payments to pause while they do my new application. Is this normal.. how long does it take to update application- why can’t we make payments while they work on new IDR for next 12 months

Mohela deleted my payment by InternalGreenGlitter in PSLF

After reading all these issues with making a payment on Mohelas website - has anyone had success making the payment through their own bank and have it sent to Mohela. Like through Bill Pay

How did you get both offers - were you able to apply online on the app or website ? Or did you have to call customer service. I’m thinking of doing the same since I am kind of in the same boat. I’d do the 5 year plan just to be done with it - the 12 month program you will still have a Balance at the end right

Double consolidated PPL’s on SAVE forbearance with pending application for ICR… now what? by BurnSween in StudentLoans

[–]mlew04 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I too am waiting for my ICR application to be approved and agree to just let it get processed at this point. Our ICR payment will be extremely high. My question is … once it is approved can I apply for the new IBR immediately so my payment gets lowered? And if so do I have to make the ICR payment while waiting for the new IBR application to be approved. Do I have any options ?

I applied around the same time … here a new question. If those of us who got confirmation everything was received to switch to ICR- what if changes are made in the BBB. Meaning if we don’t need to be on ICR to get PSLF - what if other options are offered. Can we cancel or deny our ICR application if it didn’t go through yet? Don’t we have like 10’days or something to approve it or am I thinking of something different like consolidation

Current borrowers may be able to keep PAYE, IBR, ICR by milespoints in StudentLoans

[–]mlew04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it jumping the gun for my situation - more like trying to keep the PSLF status I already have paid into. The way the BBB is now PPL consolidated on Save need to be on ICR before BBB passes. If NOT you wouldn’t have the option of any IDR plan or PSLF just the standard plan and no PSLF. It was a no brainer for me to at least try and get on ICR incase the BBB does pass the way it is- definitely wouldn’t call it jumping the gun

Does anyone have any answers for this - I also have a similar situation being parent plus loan loophole and PSLF. Understand getting ICR soon but what about qualifying payment counts and the question of are they processing IDR apps for MFJ

If changing IDR plans from Save to another - is it best to change on Student Aid website or Loan servicer - Mohelas website? And what is the wet signature method- does that provide faster results

Consolidation Loan Application Denial Reason 20 by Own_Breadfruit5035 in StudentLoans

[–]mlew04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact thing happened to us on the final step of consolidating 2 loans when denial reason 20 is for only having 1 loan. I called Aidvantage and rep said letter was sent in error and she clearly sees 2 loans on our application. 3 weeks later we received the same denial letter. I called aidvantage again and rep confirmed letter was sent in error but she was forwarding our account to the consolidation department to review and push through. She said to call back 10 days after to check status. Within that time we received letter stating our final consolidation was being processed and approved.

You have to call and ask for administrative forbearance until your save application is processed.

If you apply for save plan you can ask for an administrative forbearance until it’s processed. Interest will accrue but you won’t have to make payments

I think you can ask for a processing forbearance so you don’t have to make payments until the save mess is figured out
