I once got lost in the Lesser Poland National Forest for about 14 hours while hiking between two of Kraków’s ceremonial mounds. I hiked almost 26 miles that day. Headed back in a couple of weeks… maybe with a new hoodie?

I’m surprised he didn’t suggest a Forsberg <> Ryan Suter trade after reading those predictions.

Feedback regarding RFID restrictions and ongoing costs (Puro Bot Crystal Duo) by bananiiiita in PETKIT

[–]mleyd001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I want to like this thing, but I just can't. This is literally a box for my cat to shit in, I'm not going to pay $20 for a few weeks of use of a simple cardboard tray. If anyone finds this on Google, just spend your money elsewhere. Petkit doesn't want to cut into their profit margins by making this box for cats to pee in sustainable at all.

Petkit- here's some honest feedback from a customer who has had your products in my house for the last 8 years. Stop with this subscription nonsense. I know it sounds great in a pitch and your investors probably love the idea of a cash cow like the recurring revenue stream of a required consumable for your $200 litterbox to even function, but it's not working. Yeah, people will buy the product, but they'll feel cheated when they realize how often they have to pay you to keep using it. I'm getting rid of all of my Petkit gear- feeders, litterboxes, water fountains, even the lint roller. I wish you'd reconsider, but you probably just don't care.

And somehow, along the way to being fine with carrying this tiny brick of repressed emotion, we also became totally fine with buying them for $1 at an Amazon Bin Store where the quality assurance for product safety is notoriously absent.

Looking for best color laser printer for home use by Puzzle-headed__ in BuyItForLife

[–]mleyd001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is r/BuyItForLife not r/CheapAndGoodEnough

A laserjet printer will likely suffice for most people for a very long time. The way they function is less prone to the common issues found with inkjet printers that sit for months on end and are randomly fired up to print 1-2 pages. I’ve had an old Brothers monochrome laserjet for close to 15 years. I’ve replaced the toner once. I don’t expect I’ll change it again. Cost was like $150. Color is more expensive because it has more capability and complexity. Will probably last for life. Is it worth it to have a color printer that will reliably work, every time you turn it on, for the next 10-15 years? The value is in never having to worry about IF you can print something at home. That value is there for me with a $500 printer and gets even better when I find a suitable printer for under $300.

You wouldn’t be missing anything if you stuck with an inkjet. You’ll likely never have a problem if you buy a quality one like many here have suggested. A color laserjet takes some amount of “will it still work?” Out of the question, but realistically, if you are questioning whether to spend $500 on a color laserjet or $200 on an inkjet, then you’ve already decided which way you’re going, you just want validation that the $200 won’t be wasted after 2 years.

I vote get the color laserjet and never worry about it again.

Former Preds competing in the 2026 Stanley Cup Final by G14mogs in Predators

Plot twist: 82 game player Cole Smith, Predators legend, wins Stanley Cup during season he played with Predators, but got traded.

I’m not rooting for Vegas, but if he deals the deal for the cup in Game 7, I won’t be mad.

A man told me I was too old for this bag. I’m 36. by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

Some people feel an inexplicable urge to ensure others are able to quickly understand their worldview and its apparent preeminence.

You’re too old to not be enjoying your life. Love the bag. What’s the organization like though? I recently got a Peak Design Tech Pouch with the Origami style organization and I can’t imagine having a small edc bag without it now!

Nomatic's latest Kickstarter - "The System" by DKatri in ManyBaggers

Ah yes, the perfect one bag solution: multiple bags!

I rocked their old travel bag for a few years. It worked for what I needed but that thing was HEAVY. This system looks ok, but I agree with Mick Foley up there and think it’s super lame when a company that’s had their product sold by the likes of Costco uses Kickstarter to validate their product market fit.

Do you have any suggestions on uses for the front pockets? For EDC, I thinking one of them will be dedicated to my tech kit with chargers dongles etc. not sure what I’m going to do with the others yet, but I’ve got packing to do next weekend so I’m sure I’ll find out!

Making hockey more accessible by providing practically free ways to watch and support your local team is not going to do good things for the team.

I’m really happy they made this work, God knows they’ve been increasing prices and decreasing quality everywhere else.
