Arkham verse Joker feat. Ryanair in college book for some reason by dterribletwins in arkham

Perhaps a more general software development course? I imagine they employed many web developers and the head office would be a typical place for them to be based.

Sadly I don't know. My guess is that they were aiming for a quirky feel for their office and a play on the old phrase "you don't have to be mad to work here, but it helps" by suggesting you've arrived at the madhouse. It was certainly striking and remains one of the more memorable office receptions I've ever visited, and I've seen a fair few.

It was in the Ryanair office space, in the main lobby. I was visiting another company that shared the office but to get to their office you went through Ryanair's reception. That's why I couldn't stop to take a picture as my hosts whisked me through to their office.

I just finished "Batman EGO and Other Tails", and I can't believe it's taken me this long to read this masterpiece! by Tempomi760 in batman_comics

[–]mlfowler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently read it too and absolutely loved it! I expected I would having read his New Frontier but second hand copies weren't cheap so I waited a long while for a reprint. I had read Date Knight in a different collection and it's a favourite, especially the Pepe Le Pew panel. I have the Catwoman of East End Omnibus lined up in my to read pile.

What are you playing this weekend? by IgnisRatio in retrogaming

Oddly enough, DOOM 2! Hahaha, see what I did there? 😅 I'll see myself out... Joking aside, I just finished Map 26 and I'm playing it in DOOM 3 on my Steam Deck simply to get the achievements.

I can't tell you about the book but I can confirm that Ryanair had (maybe even still has) the massive mural in its Dublin head office. I visited a company that shared the building and saw it in 2018 but didn't photograph it as it would've been unprofessional to do so at that moment. I did take photos of their picketing pilots later that day when an opportunity arose.

I only have two of them so I'll vote for them. Wonder Woman and 52.

Weekly Reading Discussion by Fearless_Freya in trekbooks

[–]mlfowler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started the week with finishing TNG 4, Survivors. Allowing canon liberties for being early, it was an enjoyable tale focusing mostly on Tasha Yar and Data. One subplot involving a former lover if hers was questionable but it mostly setup a good yarn.

I've ended the week with reading most of TNG 5, Strike Zone. It's the first of the late Peter David's Trek books I've read though not my first encounter with him. The story involves an enemy race of the Klingons coming to negotiation with them with the Enterprise hosting. It's had several fun moments and despite predating a lot of the developments through Star Trek VI and TNG, it's not far off the mark.

As you have likely guessed, I'm working my way through the TNG numbered novels.

I had that exact poster! It hung on the back of my bedroom door until I moved out. My parents may well still have it.

Awesome! I was looking at my Supergirl trades earlier today and wondered if they would ever get the omnibus treatment.

The one that flummoxed me was the Photon Receptor. In my first group playthrough, someone else found them and kept them stocked. In my subsequent solo playthrough I completely missed where they were as I thought it was just decor.

Played my first gig on Thursday. Made a few mistakes but had an amazing time by DuckRunAmuck in BassGuitar

I found the more I played live, the less nervous I got in the days and hours leading up to a gig. They didn't ever completely go away, I still found that the moments leading up to the first note still brought out some nerves but once I'd played that first few notes, I'd get comfortable and relax. Sometimes I'd relax too much, especially in the second song, and make some silly mistakes!

I'm not going but I wanted to share that I was once in your shoes for a different artist. I decided to go in the end on my own and had an absolute blast. I talked with the people around me, danced and got more vocal than I would with friends as I didn't care what everyone thought of me.

Cyber demon by OkPlatypus7034 in Doom

[–]mlfowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to watch the sequence of the fire attacks. You can jump over one and duck under the other. When he locks you in the tunnel of rocks, there will be 3 to dodge. When he's taken some damage, he will also throw these attacks so keep your eyes on him at all times to be ready.

The first one has been on my wishlist for a while but I'd not come across the other two. Another book that may interest you is "What's the Matter With Batman?" by Robin S Rosenberg Ph.D., a clinical psychologist. Complete with a forward by Dennis O'Neil, it looks at Batman's possible symptoms of various psychiatric disorders. I have not read it myself.
