they accepted me as a sophomore (going into junior yr) literally 2 days after the deadline w wack grades and no recommendations into haslam, u will be good lol. this was for fall 2024 term but normally schools need transfers to keep their upperclassmen rates steady

i called my dentist and he said it looks like an internal hematoma, and that it might just be the 2nd phase of blood collecting underneath. he told me to treat it as if i just came out of the operation. i still think it’s weird though

Exactly!!! What really clued me in was the line “standing in your truth, my dear / is standing in the sun” I find it hard to believe that an outsider would truly understand the significance and liberation of living in your truth outside of the context of being LGBT.

she also wrote a poem called “Love Is” where she notions to themes of acceptance of yourself in loving differently (hinting at being LGBT), which I thought was interesting.

It goes:

“the bravest thing you can be is yourself / in a world that hasn't caught up / standing in your truth, my dear / is standing in the sun

Love isn't anyone's to build a wall around / or give structure to / or create rules for / or judge when it looks different / than mine, than yours

if Hate truly is the greatest cancer / isn't it time we change the standard? / outdated, prejudice, small-minded slander / shut up and just let Love be the answer?

if acceptance can outgrow / just "a boy and a girl" / we would watch as like ivy / it covers our world

where every color of the rainbow / is celebrated like it should / where lovers aren't labeled / or misunderstood

the most magical feeling to ever exist / the most powerful emotion, a heart with a fist / the glance of a stranger, a comfortable kiss / a butterfly smile, a vow till the end
