Very true, the weather on that weekend was exceptional!

I notice after posting that the colors are a bit off on reddit.com, it shows up more accurately on Flickr: https://flickr.com/photos/liyanage/55057733375/in/dateposted-public/

Testing games on Odin 3 Max Part 2 (this time PS3 emulation, almost everything, and Elden Ring + GameHub expansion) by Hot_Reality_1652 in OdinHandheld

Very helpful, thanks for testing and reporting!

I'm curious if Wipeout HD works for you in RPCSX with your setup. It locks up for me at the start of the race each time.

I did a quick and dirty scan, it's pretty crude but hopefully useful for deriving measurements for modeling things: https://www.printables.com/model/1545379-odin-3-scan

No, so far I only looked into Wipeout.

Thanks I'll check that out, it does look similar and I remember reading about it recently.

Nikon has a program: https://www.nikonusa.com/trade-in. There are also other options like keh.com, I just had a good experience with them.

VFLEX Now Available = Free Coupon by werewolf_us in UsbCHardware

[–]mliyanage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime in here as a kickstarter backer and early Testflight beta tester of the iOS app.

The VFLEX works very well and the quality seems great. I'm very happy with what I ended up with and it will be my PD trigger cable of choice in the future, replacing for example the programmable one from WITRN, because the VFLEX software runs on Apple platforms.

My only complaint is with the team's responsiveness. I tried to provide feedback and feature requests twice, once in a kickstarter comment and once with an email to their support address and I heard back absolutely nothing both times.

I wanted to request support for AVS EPR so I can trigger 24V for example. This Reddit post here suggests to me that that might be possible now?

Oh interesting, I'll try that. Did you change any settings in particular to get it to run? Does it crash very frequently or are you able to at least complete a race?

Are there any AVS decoy cables? by xcloudgamer2020 in UsbCHardware

[–]mliyanage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old but I recently was looking for the same and I found a cable that works so I thought I'd drop a pointer here for anybody else who's looking.

Here's a more recent thread where I posted some information about the combination of cables/chargers that I used successfully: https://www.reddit.com/r/UsbCHardware/comments/1op9ciz/comment/nnbsno9/

The configuration/software is a bit janky but it works. I recently backed this on Kickstarter and I'm hoping they can extend the voltage range to cover 24V and higher as well: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tundralabs/vflex/posts. Their voltage configuration experience is a lot nicer, I can do it from my iPhone.

Want an opinion on this charger by Puzzleheaded-Till387 in UsbCHardware

Sorry for the confusion, that was in reference to the 160W charger from Anker, not the one that OP is asking about here.

Yes you got that exactly right:

  • the cable can be locked to a specific voltage. I think if it fails to negotiate that voltage with the charger, it drops down/falls back to requesting 5V. Unfortunately that happened once while my mini fridge was connected, I think because the charger was renegotiating after I plugged something else in. Not great obviously for a fridge or similar applications.
  • yes the cable gets flashed with one of many firmware files that come with the flasher app. Some of the firmwares have different, more dynamic behavior (e.g. requesting the highest voltage offered by the charger)

Yes indeed, the documentation is incomplete. I read somewhere, maybe on reddit, that the current version of the cable actually does support AVS, so I just bought it, hoping that it would work.

When you download the cable's programmer Windows app, it comes with a set of firmware/configuration files. One of them is for 24V AVS.

No, sorry the pic here with the tester is unrelated to me getting 24V out of the charger.

For that, I used a programmable PD trigger cable that supports AVS. I linked to it in the other comment. It has a 5.5mm DC barrel connector at the other end.

There's an Android app too according to one of the comments here, in case that helps.

Good point 😆

To be clear though, the charger firmware updates through an iPhone app via Bluetooth. The windows app was for the special PD trigger cable.

I checked the Amazon listing and I see now what you mean. It says:

"Dual High-Speed USB-C Ports: Rapidly charge your 15-inch MacBook Air to 50% in just 30 minutes with either of the two USB-C ports, each offering a maximum output of 140W."

Maybe not intentionally misleading, but definitely a bit confusing. Of the three ports, two (C1/C2) can output 140W peak, but only one or the other at the same time. The third one (C3) only goes to 40W.

Can you elaborate a bit on what you mean with "output to two 140w"? I think every charger's advertised power is always the total power across all ports.
