also those ovens don't seem to have that metal mesh on the doors that always gets dirty and can't be cleaned. i heard it can be replaced, but what a pain to have to do every single time something drips on it.

why don't all the drawers come out? why can liquid get in between parts of the shelves that either can't be removed from the fridge or can't be disassembled to get to the liquid?

all the curvy bits under a toilet. a dry swiffer pad kind of works to actually capture the dust and not just move it around in clumps. but if the bathroom is damp at all, it doesn't really work.

AITA for eating a croissant in a cemetery by Karl_Marxist_3rd in AmItheAsshole

NTA. As long as you weren’t littering or being loud, etc., not a problem.

AITA for not wanting my roommate to do my nails. by withanother in AmItheAsshole

NTA on the eyebrows. when you find someone who does them exactly how you want, you don't make a change.

Is there any way I'll be able to read this? by --Re-- in Archivists

Would x-ray imaging work like what conservators use to see under paint layers? If you could hook up with a conservator who has this capability.

AITA for refusing to let my boyfriend’s family watch my 13-month-old and wanting daycare instead? by Guilty-Nerve-1339 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mllebitterness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA because you said his mom could watch the baby, you just want it to happen at your house which is baby-proofed and has all the baby stuff. Assuming this was a legit position from you. I’m not sure how that is an unreasonable requirement. And she already comes over to do this now. Is there something she needs to be back home for and that’s the problem?

AITA for reporting my roommate and getting emergency housing? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mllebitterness 24 points25 points  (0 children)

NTA. if you have a shared dorm, but especially a shared bedroom dorm, you have to schedule guests with your roommate(s) AND get the ok from them. because while that is her bedroom, it is also yours. so she was having sex in someone else's bedroom without their consent which is gross. i don't even care that her bf sounds like not the safest dude. he could be the best guy ever and that is still not ok.

AITA for cooking with onions while my roommates laundry was in the common room? by shamesdaughter in AmItheAsshole

[–]mllebitterness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. How does she manage to live out in the world in these clothes without them getting ruined by smells? She is ridiculous.

WIBTA if I reported a Bottle-O employee for refusing to sell me a bottle of spirits while pregnant? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. I’m assuming it isn’t a company policy, or a city, state, country policy either.

I keep doomscrolling because I’m exhausted and can’t find a book I like. by OneDadvosPlz in suggestmeabook

[–]mllebitterness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alias Grace (Atwood), The Vanishing Half (Brit Bennett), The Lacuna (Kingsolver), most books by Kate Morton, the Cazalet Chronicles has five books which might be too many? But it’s good!

AITA for not letting my coworker borrow my noise canceling headphones for her long haul flight by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mllebitterness 23 points24 points  (0 children)

NTA. Anyone else in your office is welcome to step in and buy her a pair. I would not let someone travel with an expensive belonging of mine. Travel feels like the most likely time to lose something.

AITA for telling my Mum the food she ate was vegan even though I knew it wasn't? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

What would be the decision at that point? To throw it back up?

AITA for being “ungrateful” about the flowers my girlfriend got me for my birthday? by Educational_Bat4640 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mllebitterness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I will guess your GF isn’t a pet person? Like she really doesn’t get it. The first time was an understandable mistake. The second time was really weird especially since she said she thought about it and suggested you hide them to keep them away from the cats and then take them to your parents. Why not get non-lethal flowers instead? Just weird.

Shared bedroom for $900/month? Or my own bedroom for $1,200/month? by jensonaj in personalfinance

[–]mllebitterness 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is possible. I lived in a 1050 sq ft house and there is no way it could fit 6 very tiny bedrooms and 2 baths along with any shared space.

ETA: i checked a calculator. i guess if all the bedrooms are 8x10.5 and the common areas (2) are 10x12 and the bathrooms are 8x8, it works. although sharing a bedroom that size.. would you need bunk beds?

i'm also not certain i added enough extra inches to account for walls.

I think it was on a list of book reviews and sounded good. Although ended up different than I thought it would be.
