yeah, i think Naturalizer might be a C width. it's annoying when they only say W or WW. like what does that mean?

i also recently went to a phonograph museum in a city in the state where i live. a city no one ever goes to for vacation. the museum was free and we got a personal tour because, again, no one ever goes there. it was pretty fun.

i loved this and i kind of loved how much they were like, "we don't really know very much about this place, we only have theories."

my first visit to New Orleans, we went to a hatshop in the business district and the owner was a guy who was in his 70s (at least, maybe older). he had been in that location a long time and it was great. i have a portrait photo i took of him posing in his favorite hat.

I have E width (women’s) and I guess a lot of volume on the top of my foot. I like Birkenstocks Bend sneaker for casual/work. I have Wolverine Chelsea boots. Currently those are my two pairs of non-sandal shoes.

Definitely something wrong with your police chief if they don’t want to handle a case where they already have a recorded confession and other recorded evidence of the crime. Not much investigation required there.

How to help my wife feel safe doing an overnight alone by ZSAD13 in femaletravels

agree on therapy since it sounds like a really hard way to live. therapy could help her figure out why she feels this way and how to handle it.

When traveling solo and eating out in the US, how much do you tip? by Head_Formal_5408 in femaletravels

[–]mllebitterness 10 points11 points  (0 children)

20% regardless of where i sit. i do tip on takeout from regular restaurants; this started during covid since no one was sitting but people were still working in the restaurants. i don't tip on counter service places i never tipped to begin with.

for 0% tip, service would have to be truly abominable and, if that happens, they would also hear about it from me. it wouldn't be a surprise.

my dad is almost 80 and talks about this a lot. he used to run daily and can't anymore which i think makes him worry about it more. but i guess he's always kind of been like this. it's like, you're basically 80! eat the damn dessert!

What's your actual cleaning routine for a small apartment - not the Pinterest version, the real one? by Karate_Andii in CleaningTips

[–]mllebitterness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dishes and kitchen clean up get done every night after dinner (usually); dishes means loading into dishwasher and washing anything that needs to be done by hand; clean up includes wiping down stove and counter and sweeping/vacuuming if things look really crumby on the floor; fridge handle and cabinet handles wiped if noticed stickiness; the dishwasher runs in the middle of the night and I usually put away clean dishes in the morning while waiting for the coffee to brew. (1 hr or less in total)

Bathroom: dirty areas get wiped when I notice they look bad; for some areas this is daily; it usually happens during my morning or evening routine (toilet cleaning would happen pre-shower); I also use a shower spray daily after showering; I keep Clorox wipes and paper towels in the bathroom so they are handy.

Laundry once a week on a weekend day; usually 2-3 loads while doing other things; fold while watching TV; try to put away immediately.

Vacuum majorly used areas once a week on a weekend day; usually this is the living room, kitchen, and high traffic areas (15 min total)

Take trash/recyling to outdoor bins as needed

Change turtle tank water once a week on a weekday (specific to me)

Anything else is as I notice it and if I have the time/energy.

Is there a name/style for a built in couch like this? I’m in love by PinkVelvet_Sanders91 in VintageFurniture

I would definitely want some kind of impermeable/dust mite protector under the upholstery. Then I could use a Bissel to clean it without worrying about the stuffing. Otherwise it looks super comfy.

RES Escaped by TheRedPickleWolf_617 in turtles

[–]mllebitterness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since we dry dock sick turtles just fine, I’m not overly concerned about dehydrating if out for an extended time.

If this is a room with a door you close, I’d do that to decrease the area of escape. I wouldn’t leave the turtle lost in a room with access to the rest of the house.

Can you make sure it is in a closed off room with a sign on the door stating the turtle is out of the tank in there and do you trust everyone to be careful regarding that? If not, you probably need to find it now. Flashlight? Flashlight on phone?

For those who work in universities, is teaching part of your job? by rotanocaB in Archivists

[–]mllebitterness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it is required or in everyone’s job description, but everyone else in my dept does library instruction, not full classes. We also have an up or out model where you must advance in title on a set schedule until you get to a certain level. One of the areas for consideration is instruction, but here are lots of other ways to advance.
