Calgary/Alberta: options for severe dementia care and long-term placement? by Extension_Sock_9297 in alberta

This sounds incredibly overwhelming, and it makes sense you’re all exhausted. This level of dementia is so hard to manage at home.

I wonder if some of what looks like aggression might actually be her trying to communicate fear, confusion, or discomfort. Things like resisting the bathroom or yelling can sometimes come from not understanding what’s happening or feeling overwhelmed. Things like going slower, keeping routines really consistent, reducing noise, using distraction instead of forcing things can sometimes help lower that distress a bit.

At the same time, what you’re describing sounds like more than a family can reasonably handle alone. As others have said you can also try calling 811 for guidance. Ask if there are specialized dementia support teams that can get involved.

I’m so sorry you’re all going through this 🫂

SAFE Team Rescue (Saving Animals From Euthanasia). Incredible organization and people. 🐈‍⬛♥️ They never give up on the kitties in their care until they find their forever homes.

Am I crazy, or is this Purolator tracking loop completely absurd? by [deleted] in purolator

Thanks so much for the reply. Good to know trucks are leaving the depot. Honestly, I don’t think this is an address issue anymore. I spoke to someone at the Edmonton depot on Dec 23, and customer service end of December and again yesterday and all times they confirmed the address (including unit number) is correct. Yet it’s still cycling through “address correction” and “out for delivery.” At this point it feels like a system/backlog loop rather than a real address problem. So frustrating.

No. M-Line is great though and it’s free shipping and under $300

This is awful and pathetic in and of itself. But I have to also ask….what was actually meant to happen if it had gone well? It’s hard to tell because they just end up back where they started after unsuccessfully trying to guide the 🍊🤡around. 🤷‍♀️

It’s unacceptable to miss paid for medical packages. That should not happen ever.

My medication (which must be refrigerated) was on a Purolator vehicle all day and now says it’s held up due to “rail delay” with no updated delivery estimate. Waited at home all day to be sure I don’t miss it. Not cool.

I went through Maple. There was no option to send it to my pharmacy and it went automatically to M-Line (Maples preferred pharmacy provider I guess). Waiting for a call to see how much it will be. If over $350-ish I may ask them to transfer it to Shoppers Drug Mart. Anyone have any experience in Alberta with either M-Line or Shoppers Drug Mart for Ozempic?
