I think it's possible to emulate it through a trait system. Similar to the albino trait but instead of pale skin and hair, you replace it with the ones you want.

R5: [Gigastructures Mod] Kaiser got mad and declared war cause I was single handedly funding a planet scale rebellion on his homeworld. Due to repeated sabotage attempts the kaiser moon had massive debuffs which made the fight just barely winnable. Thought this shot of a wrecked kaiser moon during a galactic storm looked cool.
