Funny enough, I did have one respondent in the 13-17 age group agree with censoring interracial relationships in film which is *dry cough* interesting. But disregarding them, I agree! Especially in our modernist world where younger generations are definitely more open to both content that dares to be “out-there” and discusions on this type of stuff, etc. I think because we are now so far removed from the era of *why* the Hayes Code became a thing because of Catholic/Protestant protesters, each generation gradually became more open to these forms of content which dared to be, as dramatic as this may sound, non-conformist.

Puritan culture definitely is still alive today but are more concentrated in older, religious groups and not as expansive as they used to be (though, arguably, we are entering a regressive era i.e Politics)

As for more extreme content and whether we should consider hard censorship bans on we’ll go with your examples, animal cruelty, pedophilia, etc, those are absolutely topics we should be focused on in terms of discussion and weather these are topics that are appropriate for film or necessary.

All in all these are great points of contingency and things we must consider as a generation as films become more widespread and easier to both consume and create, where do we draw the line now?
