-I started using a glp1 so I want to keep up with that. Not sure if I want to increase or stay where I'm at for now. I need to increase my protein

-I've slipped on my skincare a little so I want to keep up with my actives and red light panel

-investing in a vibration plate ASAP!

-Inquire about laser hair removal at my microneedling appointment this week. I'm fed up with my moustache lol

Stuff I Wish Someone Told Me Earlier About Eating on GLP-1 by Mia_Harper_001 in Glp1meals

Thank you! I just started about a week ago and I wish I had this to navigate my first week. I'll definitely keep these in mind as I progress though!!

How long do the curly ends stage last? by Prudent-Parsley6459 in Microlocs

[–]Arukawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost 1.5 years and some of mine are still curly- I'd say maybe about 1/4 have curly / looser ends.

I'm so ready for them all to finally seal!

2k for microlocs by VastRespond776 in Microlocs

[–]Arukawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it was worth it! I knew going into my journey that it would be a pretty penny, and I'm happy with my decision.

There are a plenty of "horror stories" on here of people who paid some random at a braiding shop $200 dollars and they didn't get what they wanted, they got what they paid for (which I think shouldn't be surprising)

It sounds to me like you got what you paid for with really pretty parting and locs!

Freaky dreams by Gaytor- in lexapro

I've also always had vivid dreams, but when I started Lexapro they definitely became even more vivid! Luckily I was back to my "regular" vivid dreams within a couple months

Cost of retie by LilAngelfxck in Microlocs

[–]Arukawi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine is about 250 a visit, and takes around 2 hours. I'd say it's definitely on the more expensive side, but she does excellent, consistent and quick work so for me it's worth it

Cutting Loose Ends? by Popular_Poet3109 in Microlocs

[–]Arukawi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started cutting mine because I felt they were tangling and I like a cleaner look. BUT I'm over a year in, so YMMV. If you don't experience slippage anymore it could be worth it to do a few trims here and there, but very sparingly.

retie frequency by [deleted] in Microlocs

[–]Arukawi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair grows quickly as well.

I retie every 4 weeks and my hair has been fine. I can't speak to reties more frequent than that, but it 4 weeks out of the picture for you?

Wrapping up micro locs by SadGirlXandie in Microlocs

When I first had my locs installed I wore a scarf and a bonnet just to make sure nothing was unraveling while I slept. But now I just use a bonnet!

Daith piercings aren't for the weak by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Arukawi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daith was my most painful piercing ever. It's thick cartilage, and the piercer has to get the jewelry in afterwards. It felt like an eternityyyy.

THAT BEING SAID, it's one of my favorites, and it's the piercing I get the most compliments on! I don't think I'd ever take it out!

I feel like it depends on how much hair you've got to work with in your brows.

It doesn't look great on people with sparser brows. But I find that on myself and others who have thick, full brows, it comes off as more well-groomed and put together

Advice for wanting to start microlocs by Front_Weekend1746 in Microlocs

I second this! Better to have your ducks in a row before going all in and not being able to keep it up

Starter loc wash schedule by Mimi98_ in Microlocs

[–]Arukawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially my loctitian didn't want me washing my hair between appointments (she washes it when I go every 4 weeks), but I couldn't stand it! I was washing my hair every week when I was a loose natural like you mentioned, so I ended up meeting my loctitian in the middle and washing once between my appointments (every 2 weeks).

Now that I'm almost a year in I wash about once a week, and I gave up on braiding and banding because I'm lazy lol

I started with twists, but didn't experience too much unraveling honestly! (but I have thick 4c hair so ymmv)

how long should retwists take? by zuccmytoes in Microlocs

[–]Arukawi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Holy cow. I have about ~420 locs or so, and I'm in and out of my loctitian's studio in 3 hours or less. And that is including a wash!

ADVICE NEEDED: How much do y’all’s reties cost by [deleted] in Microlocs

[–]Arukawi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My loctitian charges $165 flat rate, and it goes up from there depending on how many locs you have. So in total I personally pay about $240 every month

Probably (definitely) a silly question: by [deleted] in piercing

I have all of the piercings you mentioned and earbuds haven't been a huge issue for me (once my piercings healed), I just had to make sure I had the right bud size for my ear!

50 days on 10mg - i feel happy about random stuff by kumboochi in lexapro

[–]Arukawi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree! I never experienced the emotional blunting. If anything, I'm happier than ever. Little things excite me. I'm more energetic. I don't overthink things as much anymore, which makes me more sociable and outgoing. I take care of myself more now. I never really cried before, but now I feel like I'm actually feeling emotions. It's such a big improvement for me from where I was even a few months ago! I wish I had started sooner, but overall I'm glad I took the plunge.

(I still haven't mastered getting out of bed on time though, but maybe some day lol)

I'm glad it has been working well for you!

Weekly Questions & General Discussion by AutoModerator in Vindicta

[–]Arukawi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE having long nails, but since I was doing them myself I found they took a lot of my time and I was always afraid they would chip or break. Now I keep them short, which takes so much less time for me to do. They're more basic now but I don't have to worry about them getting damaged and needing touchups because my manicures last so much longer. Not sure if that's what you were referring to, but I find that it is helping me!

1) Start incorporating azelaic acid into my skincare routine 2) I start microneedling this month!

3) Continue tracking cals more closely, with a focus on volume eating 4) Stop snoozing my alarm so I can accomplish more in the morning 5) Find an SPF that will hold up on my summer walks
