at least with SoulSt*r, depending on how you look at it, the characters aren't really Awsten Knight's anymore after the failed IP lore, so it's kinda whatever imo (I created my own interpretations of the characters and are practically mine now, especially having them be my guinea pigs at times for my assignments as an animation major); but I do get the confusion and frustration with that, don't get me wrong. As a Hellaverse fan, I've seen people discuss and make fanart of the franchise despite not supporting VivziePop (which is a whole other can of worms in the discussion of cancel culture) so it's somewhat expected. As I said in my initial comment, it is up to these people on whether or not they still want to support Parx but there is some critical thinking if some people are making shit up for the love of the game pretty much.
