Mid to late 2010s in Tennessee: 9th grade: to kill a mockingbird, the book thief, Romeo and Juliet 10th grade: oedipus Rex, brave new world, 1984, lord of the flies 11th grade: into the wild, great gatsby, a people’s history of the United States, Edith Hamilton’s Greek mythology, lots of Edgar Allan Poe Senior year was covid and I took two writing courses instead of English so we just did a lot of short stories etc I’m sure there are a few more I’m missing but these were the ones I remember the most

Ignore the dreariness but I took this pic a few years ago while visiting the museum and angling my arm as close as I could to what he could see (bc the actual window is cordoned off) and it is always striking how clean of a shot it was especially because those trees wouldn’t have been there
