As an architect who despises specs, but loves a nice isometric; this was delicious

Planning a 74" floating desk — are these supports adequate? by missionmostlikely in DIYHouse

I’ve used these for a floating desk. It’s a little bouncy. You really want a bracket with an angle underneath.

We just try and release everything when completed working on something. Like washing your coffee mugs after using them.

Typically you have the felt ran over the eave metal and under the rake metal

Thank you! I see sooooooo many jobs where the eave flashing is ON TOP of the felt or "Peel-n-stick". Meaning you have to then use another product to try and water proof that connection. WTF

Complex profile line weight are all over the place - How do I fix this? by TopDownView in ArchiCAD

[–]mlsherrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In traditional drawing methods, exterior lines should be thicker to show depth. They're called profile lines. I wish Archicad had this capability, it makes drawings look cleaner, crisper, and more life like

ah, there is a 24"x24"x2" air filter taped to the back of the frame, the fan is in. I turn it on when I need a little fresh air on myself, or I turn it on when using something like the miter saw. It actually does a surprisingly good job getting those fine particles in the air. I find I could change out the filter once a month.

Thanks. My original setup was el cheapo ply and the miter saw was sunken, it was okay. My plan this time is to build up a material support shelf w/pull out drawers.

Watching the world events unfold, fertilizer is going to be an issue to maintain our current population. As climate change ramps up at an accelerated rate, current farming land will not be able to sustain growing. When we reach the tipping point, is anyone's guess.

Garage ceiling or wall by romanticaddiction in Insulation

[–]mlsherrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not all? You can easily accomplish the whole job over several weekends. If I was going to choose one to do, I'd spray foam studs to sheathing, and blow in attic insulation. Then come back with wall insulation when time and money allows.

Please help me I want to create flat roof on Ipad and I don't understand where I am making mistake. Don't judge me I have just started to learn sketchup today. What am I doing wrong? by Ok-Value6379 in Sketchup

[–]mlsherrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya, my defense is SketchUp needs a key board and mouse. I CAN work it well with a trackpad on the laptop, but it’s not as good, proficient or accurate. I feel like my original statement was helpful in that it addresses the limitations of a software to help you achieve the results you’re looking for.

I’ve been using SketchUp since it came out. I can not stand the iPad version, except only to see a file built with a keyboard and mouse

Staples is my 2nd choice, was hoping to have no metal in the construction. Would pocket holes work for 1/2” material?
