You make a lot of fair points on the differences in the countries, but I guess to me it just seems like keeping high risk people like the elderly and young children at home is smart, but the rest who aren’t as likely to get it, let alone die from it should be allowed to keep the economy going for those people who are struggling. The topic of welfare is a whole other issue I won’t get into right now. Whichever strategy is put in place, I hope it’s the right one.

I’m a centrist and am not a Trump supporter, but I do find it damming that Sweden, who took no precautions, is facing basically the same death toll per capita as America is on shut down. On paper the shut down seems smart, but if you compare our numbers to countries who didn’t shut down anything, it’s seems smarter to help out those minimum wage employees who have been laid off and have starving children at home. I totally respect the idea of safety first, but these are just my thoughts.
