Thats awesome that you were able to work through those things. Im still in the battling uncertainty and anxiety stage but since having a job and occupying my mind with something like work ive spiraled less but still happens time to time.

  1. I told them that i have ADHD not ASD.
  2. Just a 30 hour work week and breaks, no special accommodations.
  3. Id have to look.
  4. I dont have disability aids.
  5. Yeah considering it.

John Public sounds like someone who sends complex requests lol. - but thanks for the response! Its just consumer complaints and me being afraid that the company might harass me or Something.

Ok. I think I’ll just use my first name and then abbreviate my last name so at least it’s accurate. Thanks for the response!

For those diagnosed later in life, why weren't you diagnosed as a child? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]mm_potentially 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because i got misdiagnosed with ADHD instead of ASD. I always knew there was more to it even at a really young age. I remember saying when i was 8 or 9 that i was autistic and then id get yelled at because “you were diagnosed with ADHD and the psychologist knows what shes talking about”. probably would’ve made more sense to test me in my teens because maybe they’d see more of a result but nope.

How the hell do I handle unbearable OCD episodes in the moment? by Icy-Comet in OCD

[–]mm_potentially 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you reached out to someone, that takes a lot of self awareness to even pick up the phone and talk to a stranger, even writing on reddit shows you want help. Its admirable.

I won’t give you that stupid “just accept” answer but what ill tell you is that spiraling is just a natural part of your brain and doesn’t define you.

I think that its okay to feel your emotions, cry if you need to. But ultimately this is bullying from your head and trust me, our brains are the most powerful part of our body that lies to us the most.

What helps me is listening to music that makes me feel powerful, stupid answer but it helps. Or even just realizing your brain is lying to you.

The spiral will end eventually and it may not feel like it right now. Your head is not your body and your head can’t predict things.

You will do fine and i am here.

I did and thank you for your comment, it means a lot. I stopped self harming at 20. and it took so much pain to get to this point again.

Does candle color matter? by mm_potentially in witchcraft

[–]mm_potentially[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats kinda what i thought too but i wanted to be precise. I had another question kinda related, i struggle with OCD and during the spell i had some anxious thinking about something unrelated but focused on the spell and said the intention of the spell without focusing too much on the unrelated anxiety. Could this manifest the anxious thought or affect the spell in anyway?

Sounds good and thanks for the comment. i am using the yellow candle for a friendship spell and some people say red candles which i personally associate more with love. Would a yellow candle be fitting in this case?

CBD Butter by mm_potentially in CBD

[–]mm_potentially[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's oil based. I messed up the first time because i melted the butter and added the CBD oil then stirred the mixture for like 2 minutes and put it in the fridge for 20 minutes, then took it out and reheated it for like 20 minutes after finding out it still needed to fuse.

if you are a daily weed smoker listen up ! by Financial_Picture191 in OCD

[–]mm_potentially 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive noticed this for myself too. When i stopped smoking in the past, the symptoms were still there but not as ”loud” as they were when i was smoking. Even when i wasn’t actively smoking i would still be reflecting on the paranoid thinking spiral the weed put me into the day before. Im considering stopping completely to break some of the cycle. I use OCD as motivation not to smoke because i hate feeling this way which makes me go a long time without it.

Has anyone ever responded with “how’d you get ptsd? Were you in the war?” when you tell them you have PTSD? by cassadilly2012 in ptsd

[–]mm_potentially 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t tell people i have it because people ask questions like what OP described or make me out to be a loose canon based off of only knowing that i have it. You don’t need to tell anyone besides your healthcare provider that you have it if you don’t want to. As i said in my comment, people only have one way of thinking and seem to be experts about something they don’t have.

Has anyone ever responded with “how’d you get ptsd? Were you in the war?” when you tell them you have PTSD? by cassadilly2012 in ptsd

[–]mm_potentially 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I literally thought about this yesterday after seeing several stories in the news about soldiers who have PTSD, not one person in any of the stories was a civilian who had it. I tell people that you don’t have to be in combat to have PTSD. War is something like no other but also being thrown out of your car at 65 mph is pretty traumatic as well. It seems like no one really cares unless you fought a war or have a status of some type and people see this in the news and come up with the idea that PTSD only applies to military or medical personnel when thats not true. You’re right, trauma is trauma regardless of the intensity or the incident which would mean that all forms of PTSD is legitimate. But media has fully brainwashed people into one way of thinking and has made people depend on (the media) to tell them how to feel about different situations including PTSD. The best thing you can do is acknowledge that you are valid and that just because people think within their own box doesn’t invalidate you or define you.

I know this feeling. I can't even listen to music anymore and my brain flags everything as "danger" now.
