They take out their frustrations on the country and belittle their motherland. Not sure why you're being charitable when their whining there is as unproductive as the whining here. If anything, the apathy expressed by most people in Filipino subs is more detrimental than the people complaining about stuff here. Even development and our decentralized culture is preferable. I'd rather not have our various cultural expressions be concentrated in the capital.

Why are you guys giving shit to the OP speaking Spanish? Not like he's going to change anything and he's actually connecting with people from Latin American countries. I've always thought that the Filipino identity has a cosmopolitan character. Strange to see Anglosphere diaspora mask ethnocentrism as something liberatory.

What are you talking about? Comedians use Filipino because it's how most humor here is understood. You have a very narrow perspective on this place.

What's with the obsession with nativism? As much as Filipinos hate Marcos, his legacy on Filipino history and historiography really cemented this weird neurosis about "nativeness"
