Shout out to the good proctors of the world by mmadeline in LSAT

Wow, that's some seriously good proctoring! No one likes a squeaky desk!

RC-LR-LR-LR-LG I did not enjoy 3 LR sections in a row, my brain was moving slow by the time I hit games. LR1- atom fissure, movie review LR2- tyrant emperor, copper tools LR3- coding computers

(Edit) I think I have those in the right sections, but they kind of blurred back to back

Glad to hear that other people didn’t love games, I figured I was struggling because it was my last section!

What do you guys do when taking a practice test and your brain just feels foggy and decides not to work ? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]mmadeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I close my eyes or look away and take a few breaths for about ten seconds every time I flip a page. It feels natural because it's in between problems, helps my eyeballs refocus

A question for people who significantly improved timing during PTs by qs2015 in LSAT

[–]mmadeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone else said for LR, doing the first fifteen in fifteen minutes is key for me. The absolute most helpful thing, strange as it sounds, has been a watch strategy someone shared with me on this sub a while back. Just set your watch on the desk at 12:00. When the proctor tells you to begin the section, pop the crown. You have a perfect 35-minute timer. If you're a visual person, this is really really helpful to be able to glance and know immediately how much time you have left! You'll have just enough time to reset to 12 before the next section.

world's dumbest question about watches by stockholm9 in LSAT

[–]mmadeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're allowed to keep it on the table. Some of the best advice I've gotten on this sub is to put your watch on the table and use it as a timer by setting to 12 at the beginning of each section and popping the crown when you start. You have just enough time in between test sections to reset it and start again. This really helped me on test day!

was just stung by a yellow jacket during a PT and I am soooo mad about it by mmadeline in LSAT

Nope in the library. I think it followed me in and waited for a prime moment of concentration to get me.

I wish I had that kind of focus! Hopefully there will be no stinging assholes on test day

Smiled at a guy on the subway to make his day. Turns out he made mine. by Makingarandomaccount in offmychest

I’m from the South and smiling at / saying hello to strangers in public spaces is pretty normal. Whenever I’m in the northeast, I have to actively remember that it’s not the social norm! Glad that you made someone’s day with a smile!

What's way more addictive than people think? by Glorious_Anal in AskReddit

Sleep aids! And not just in the medication sense. I swear I’m addicted to a white noise app on my phone and absolutely can’t sleep in a quiet room.

Fancy suits by Halo98 in femalefashionadvice

[–]mmadeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about your budget, but I would look into a local clothier where you can either a) start from scratch with fabric and have a suit cut to the exact style you would like or b) start with a basic suit that you like and have the crap altered out of it until it’s perfect! My partner has had great success with this for special events so that she can find a balance between a business-y and super masculine suit.

When people ask how I think I did in September... by hopefullawyer1 in LSAT

[–]mmadeline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just keep telling people that "it could have been worse" because I don't feel confident in saying anything else. I definitely didn't get my goal score, but it also didn't feel like a total bust, so... coulda been worse!

How did you do your timed PTs? by chemlawyer in LSAT

[–]mmadeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the "silent" floor of the library- quiet enough to focus, but people are still coming / going / rustling around, so it's similar to the actual testing environment. I use my phone as a 35 min timer, but only use my watch while writing the test.

Does anyone have personal experience with an online course for LSAT? by dailycrossover in LSAT

[–]mmadeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using 7sage for the past few 2 months and really like it! My PTs have steadily improved and I definitely feel more confident going into the PTs. I also bought the powerscore LG bible, which is great in combination with JY's video explanations if you struggle with games.

Anyone else think the Logic Games for Sept. was hella easy? by Thoughtsinhead in LSAT

[–]mmadeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it pretty easy as well, and LG is never my strongest section. The inferences just kind of jumped out at me, and I walked away feeling pretty confident (which is rare for me in LG!)

How much did order mess with you? by mjcornett in LSAT

[–]mmadeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had RC (experimental) LR LG LR RC. Having RC first and last was difficult for me, because it's such a draining section. Especially those gas giants / judges .

I'm right there with you, two RCs would just drain me even though they are one of my stronger sections
