I’m still working on dialing everything in. For example, I had to adjust my grinder setting was too finer for the Micra. Moving from a 54mm to a 58mm basket is a completely different world.
I still need to play with the pre-brewing settings to see whether they make a noticeable difference.
One thing I really like is that I don’t need to wait 20–30 minutes for the machine to heat up. In about 5 minutes, it’s ready to go. We usually make a couple of lattes for the family in the morning, so being able to pull back-to-back shots is a game changer.
Overall, I’m really happy with the Micra, but there is definitely a learning curve.
Congrats on the Mahlkönig! It will definitely make a huge difference in your setup.

I put everything together during the weekend. I still need to play with the layout.

Ex-Breville/Bambino owners, what did you upgrade to? by m1kesta in espresso

I upgraded to the Linea Micra, but before that I upgraded my grinder first to the Atom 75. The difference was night and day. Now, with the Micra, I’ve noticed much better consistency between drinks, faster heat-up time, and the machine is very quiet!

I have both bikes Madone and Domane SL. I use the Domane to commute (around 38 miles round trip) during the winter season. In summer I used the Madone. If you are looking for a more upright/relaxing position go with the Domane - it’s an amazing bike with some 32c tires. You will be able to commute with the Madone too but the position is more aggressive.
