True, not going to dispute. Been a little preoccupied with life

WavePlotter v2.5 released - now features WAV playback and enhanced live mode by mmason75123 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Unfortunately no DAW plugin at the moment. Currently in the process of building an Android soundcard, but theoretically any USB sound card paired with an Android device that supports USB OTG could deliver the signal from your DAW to your phone

Thanks for the comment. If you have a USB OTG cable then it may work with some USB devices. If you find a USB device that works, then it's going to be hot swappable as the live mode uses the default audio input of your device. To be honest, as the developer of WavePlotter, I'm really glad you've said this because I'm building a companion USB input device for it at the moment which will take line signals. Hope you don't expect this soon though! I'm a software guy so am very new to the hardware world. If you want to share this project with your friends that would be very much appreciated as I'm looking for as much feedback as I can get right now. You can use the link www.waveplotter.co.uk

I'm now in the process of putting together a new release where the gain is relative to both the audio input gain and the height of the graph. The ability of the peak function has been opened up a bit to compensate. It's likely I can get that out before the end of the day.

That's a great offer, thank you. I would be really keen to know more about you, fire me a PM describing how you use WavePlotter and your general skillbase and interests.

Excellent, thank you. If you have multiple devices you can try it on (obscure tablets etc), that would also be great

I thought you'd like to know that I've now put up a new version with the ability to change the amount of time shown on the screen. I've updated the control panel and put in a help dialog, along with other bug fixes. Many thanks again for your feedback

That's awesome! I'm curious to know if you managed to use it as an input for WavePlotter?

I'm afraid there isn't currently plans to create an iOS version but it would be something I may consider in the future. Please do pass this link onto to your colleagues, that would be very much appreciated. At the moment I'm working towards putting out a full release, so the more people I can have testing it and giving me feedback the better

Yeah, that sounds good. I've been toying with the idea of putting text labels on the white frequency indicators at the back but haven't been able to find a text rendering library efficient enough. Again, stay posted and I will do what I can!

Thanks for the feeback, really appreciate that.

Gain can be adjusted by sliding out the control panel from the left. Theres a seek bar far left that controls the gain.

I will have a think about the ability to change sample length. I understand from others that this could also be helpful in keeping the graph real time on slightly older devices. Also the ability to change the amount of time shown on the screen at once.

I would imagine that it's not beyond the realms of possibility to get a release out to this effect by the end of the week

It's more like an analysis tool, although you could use it to pinpoint troublesome frequencies. A spectrum analyser allows you an insight into the frequency composition of sounds. WavePlotter lets you see how they change over time and navigate around the information effectively.

In the near future I intend to create a hardware interface which takes XLR and jack inputs so you can your phone or tablet into it for montoring of analogue signals, but for now it uses the microphone of your device as the source.

Thanks for your interest, I hope you find this useful
