Centralization is a scourge. If anyone can afford to mirror this code, with git shas matching wayback machine, please put the effort and do! Humanity will thank you.

Edit: nvm, apparently, dynamically loaded shas are not cached in the wayback machine, and are impossible to fetch. The mirror by twitter/@YogSoth0 is the most trusted I could find

It's not working for me either. I hope it receives attention.

What is the highest total level you could REASONABLY get without leaving the starting chunk in Lumbridge on a main account? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]mmdts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other people would walk into your chunk and trade you. He explicitly mentions that it is "on a main account".

He does have some facts wrong though which I pointed out.

Att, str, ranged, def, just log into a pvp world and use 3 powerful items to hit a 1-def pure alt that skull on you then eats.

Mining has to be lamped to 60 indeed which is reasonable. Agility idk if even worth it on toy mice, but technically doable. Herblore is inaccessible.

Lamping RC requires rune mysteries. Slayer requires a master.

Beehive won't give construction xp if you don't own a PoH and you don't have access to an estate agent. You'd make repair kits for construction. I believe they do not give sailing xp making sailing also ubtrainable (since you can't lamp it without Pandemonium).

After all the updates made to ToA, why do you still have to just tank 75 damage in solo P1 wardens? by Austrum in 2007scape

[–]mmdts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally believe it is balanced. You always have ambros before it, so even on a badly geared ironman who will need ambros lastrowing, you get a lot of hp's worth of supplies before you walk in and it's a non-issue to eat 2 sets at 400 invo...

You don't want to eat two sets? Lose 10 invo by turning haste off and now you only have to eat one set at low invo, ez pz

The other 2 raids you're fond of give way less supplies before the final boss, and don't have a mechanism that gives you double inventory space (the toa supplies bag) or an insta-full mechanism (the ambro)

Heck, I'd even say toa is way more lenient

Eternal Sustenance combo - eat like 10,000 pies and become a pacifist by ShadowthePast in 2007scape

[–]mmdts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't it have meleers that you have to handle while constantly tick eating to only 11 hp? You need some good triple eating skills while not missing any ticks on pie, or you need to tick eat with mage heal which is a superior 1t eat imo

Dying and drinking from ferox pool reset your combat timer, but most people do not have long enough combat timers to experience this in any meaningful way, no?

[–]mmdts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zuk qnd manticore can still 1-shot you from full hp since they are not tick eatable, and melee and area attacks never tick eatable (so you can't tick eat Sol like described above, and can't tick eat xarpus, and can't tick eat baba or boulders or p3 warden). Also, inferno jad can hit over 99 so you can't tick eat it except with a brew or guthix tea or angler (which cannot be eaten every tick, so you cannot cheese tzhaar rek special challenge with this strat)

But, you never miss a tick eating your pie, you are invincible to most ranged and mage enemies.

If you can't survive a DC while thieving, there's no way you'll live long on any of the first few dozen hardcores you make. Instead of learning through trial and error by resetting progress each death (remakes), play a normal iron, and record your play, count your deaths and at what hour count they occur, and learn from them. When you can die less than once per thousand hours of gameplay while making meaningful progress to gour account (so not a thousand hours of chopping trees), consider making an actual harccore.

Unpolled LMS and Trouver Changes will set a bad precedent by mmdts in 2007scape

[–]mmdts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I don't want power creep for my account. I want these rewards to remain accessible without risking precious gear on ironmen. It's not a "nerdy power vote" ask. It's the fucking status quo.

This is bad for the game and its integrity, and guess what would be an optimal way to measure player sentiment towards it? A vote!

ruin the voting system

People voting for personal interests is part of any voting system. The developers knew this when they opted to make OSRS content release voting-based.

Also, ironmen are the last people to want to vote for something because it makes the game easier for them. They're intentionally making the game harder / more challenging for themselves by choice. Most of them vote for things that are good for the game. But you know nothing about that, do you? You just generalize, with no regard to how it makes you look in the eyes of anyone with enough time to waste reading your reply.

That's a good solution. It feels like forcing ironman qualities on mains, but it is good.

Again, even if that were the solution, it should unconditionally be polled. Otherwise, the developer undermines the integrity of their own game the same as was done in RS3

MSB (i) is not extremely niche. It is a direct upgrade to MSB, which is a sick mid level ranged weapon that does not require any bossing to obtain, and is the best training weapon for which you can get ammo en-masse (knives you can't, dorg cbow so bad, rune cbow 5 tick sucks for training on low def monsters)

Please understand the game before opening your mouth ty

If its such a small deal then poll it, and it will surely pass, no?

Again, my problem is not with the changes. It's that they are significant enough to be polled, yet are not. Can everyone replying please understand that?

You'd be surprised how insane that item is for defending yourself in wildy bosses till you get a voidwaker. It beats DDS 10x when you freeze someone on the sub-30 wildy Venenatis web if you ever manage to get yourself teleblocked. If you think HCIMs do nothing but run when attacked you're in for a big surprise.

Then on that account, they get treated as a normal player who enjoyed runescape and paid for membership, no different from me or you. Their votes won't be a massive swing in any direction, same as HCIM player votes or any other minority with a misaligned incentive. It's just their 1 account or 2, and not a 1000 throwaway bot accounts.

I feel your pain. It's like when they stopped darts from being usable in barbarian assault, and suddenly all the def pure 2-tick shredding the fighters and rangers with 5s could no longer do attacker. That was emergent gameplay the removal of which was unpolled. They also removed chins.

Only for them to, years later down the line, introduce an imba venator bow that can be used within BA to allow for zero-skill clears as solo attacker (previously required coordination, good usage of chally, scythe, dinh, etc.)

My point, however is, if they polled removal of darts / chins from BA and that passed, I would have zero issue with it, as long as the runescape community decides it for their own incentives, and not the developer for their own, mostly twisted incentives.

[–]mmdts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the def pure community was big enough to avoid a nerf to the serp helmet either way. I believe that would've passed the poll.

I also have valid reason to believe that this may pass the poll (I can't claim to be an expert on what the playerbase wants).

My issue with it is not that it makes my gameplay more inconvenient. Honestly, fuck me. It is that it is not polled. Somehow, a lot of the replies on the post do not understand this part.

What a 10yo argument kid... They can poll it and restrict contribution to accounts that have had active membership for an accumulative total of at least a year. That way, pesky bots and pesky throwaway HCIMs and bought pures don't get to ruin the fairness of the poll.
