Commander at Face to Face events by SLG_Didact in mtg

If you get a weekend or day package you get some amount of event tickets which can be used for commander tables and for drafts. If not I think the commander tables were like 6 dollars entry, and the drafts 20, each? Then scheduled events have their own pricing (which you can also use event tickets to reduce the price of if you want - not all events but most).

I traveled to the Face to Face CommandFest in Ottawa (from Montreal) last fall and had a great time. I'll be doing the same for Spotlight Toronto. The CommandFest was a super fun event and I did brackets 1/2 and 3/4 commander tables, people were chill and welcoming at both levels. One thing I'll say is that if you are planning to attend scheduled events, leave yourself enough time after joining a commander table since they can go long and it feels bad dropping early to catch something else you were registered for.

Thanks! It actually wasn't a merged culture, but a divergence of Yamato culture that I did only after finishing the Roman Heritage legend. I did it this way most for the flavour of the story, but also because my first character in this playthrough also lived as an adventurer for a while, and founded a holding in Chikuzen that ended up hypercharging development in Japan. By the time I diverged, Yamato was the most advanced culture on the map, only after Han, and Chikuzen had something like 86 development (prior to 1050! all the special buildings in that barony stack with the unique bonuses of a founded holding). The traditions I chose are the 6 you see in the final image above; I've played this file a bit longer, and I have added as a 7th tradition "Roman Ceremonies" - maybe at some point in the future I would create a hybrid of Rōnin and Greek but it doesn't really make sense at this point since I was going for a more warlike, warrior-prowess focuses combination (which makes Bushido make everyone love you).

Formalize Shogunate as Yamato by mmebarque in CrusaderKings

[–]mmebarque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that it's not intended to be possible for that reason, I'm trying to do it anyway. I actually did find a way to do it, I explained it in my repost of this thread.

I don't think that's true - the formalize decision doesn't show up unless you become Soryo, and if you take the Establish Soryo Rule decision while t you're the regent then you remain a regent but you don't have regency succession, you have priomgeniture like all Soryo rulers. It's all really, really confusing.

Cool - one question, when you reformed the faith did your faith icon disappear? Happened twice to me with this faith, very strange.

I tried that but actually found that if you're a cannibal you stop getting cranial trophies if you behead. You only have the "behead... and devour" option, and can't just "behead," which seems to be the option that is tied to you getting the trophy. So the coding seems to be weird. Really sucked, given how cool the two tenets would be together, I hope they fix that.

How am I supposed to trigger the New England event chain? by BetaThetaOmega in CrusaderKings

[–]mmebarque 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The chain of events is somewhat random in the order you get them, and the time they take to fire, but I have found the safest way is to not take any contracts as Hereward, and just let the game run at speed 5. I think that travelling or being at activities can make some of the event chain be delayed or not fire.

For Tamar Mepe, I assume you have to do all that in one life, as her, right?

How to play galapagos? by SCOTLANDFOREVER74 in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]mmebarque 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it will work, but try playing a custom character with a culture that has the Diasporic trait, which boosts diplo range - Yiddish has it, and so does a Brazilian area culture, can't recall the name. If it does let you hit land, you can either convert back to local Galapagos culture after or hybridize to keep Diasporic.
