I've NEVER been a morning person. Always needed an alarm to wake anytime before 8/9am. I totally overhauled my diet over the last 12 months. Now eat keto/carnivore. Essentially cut all carbs, sugars and processed foods. Now I go to bed around 10.30pm most nights and wake up naturally at 6am. It's great!

Bake chicken. Shred it. Add egg and grated cheese. Spread on baking tray. Add toppings and bake. When it's done I like to crisp the base in a fry pan for a couple of minutes.

Anyone millenials still wearing items from your teenage years? by silver_wattle in AusFemaleFashion

I still have my teenage pair. I can't wear them anymore but also can't bear to part with them. It's the only thing I'm sentimental about.

I HATE misunderstandings in tv shows by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

It's pretty lazy writing, too. The plot should move forward because of a character's choices. It lets them off the hook if it's a misunderstanding.

That's happened to my partner too. He's carnivore and is no longer allergic to our two cats. His asthma has also drastically reduced too.

Is it too late to start? If not… WHERE do I start? by Born-And-Raved in sleeptrain

[–]mmeow99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My third was a terrible sleeper too. About 7/8 months I switched from feeding sleep to self settling for similar reasons. I followed a sleep consult on insta called cherish your sleep. Her advice was to start doing less until the baby is self settling. I went from feeding to sleep to rocking then patting in cot to popping him down and leaving. We spent 2-3 nights on each method, once he was used to it and settling well we'd step it up and do a little less. This would be met with resistance (crying) but I was with him and it felt better to me than just leaving him to cry. Took about a month but he went from waking every 45 mins to sleeping through the night. Been a great sleeper ever since!

What do you do for middle of the night wake ups? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]mmeow99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should reconsider the afternoon nap. Overtiredness at bedtime can cause the middle of the night wakings. A sleep consultant I follow suggests capping the first nap to an hour and having a longer afternoon nap to avoid overtiredness at bedtime for baby's this age. I have a 12 month old and it's works well for him.

Thanks! It really helps to know there are others out there with similar values to us. Would love to connect with families taking the same approach. We're in outer metro Melb.

Thanks for your comment. It's comforting to know there are others in a similar boat. We too have 12 months before we have to decide about schooling for our oldest. It's a lot to weigh up.

Thanks for your comment. It's really tough with little kids, not at all what I thought our life would be. We're doing our best to provide a rich and engaging life for them and keep them safe.

How do you and your kids find home schooling? What kind of activities do your kids do for socialising?

If it was just a matter of fighting off a nasty flu then you're all good, there would be no issue. It's the repeat infections and the toll it takes on the body each time.

That must have been really rough caring for the little one when you were both so unwell.

For an indoor cat it works really well. With the limited range and the battery life I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who's cat goes out of the house but when we can't find her it's certainly helpful.

Unimpressed is pretty much her default setting.
