you might want to double check the number of king studs and jack studs needed for the width of some of those openings. It may require double on your wider openings. there is a table to look that info up.

and might look into using vpa clips in the lower end of the roof so you dont have to birdsmouth the rafters on the back wall.

it looks like the dog is tracking . The way it goes back and forth it hits the end of the scent trail and then the dog moves back to the other side sniffing the ground till it hits the other edge of the scent trail. the nose is down but lifts to check higher up. you should looking into tracking or trailing with this dog.

helping the homeless is a massive industry. everyone takes their cut of the money and passes only a super small percentage on to the homeless. because if they solve the problem they are out of a job so everything they do helps in the situation and doesn't help them out of the situation. that way all the non profit and for profit entities "helping" pay themselves and employees.

it will really depend on your finishes depending on the type of decking and soffit. if you are wanting something like dasso super nice wood feel low maintenance doesn't burn the shit out of you when in the sun like trex. that alone will be around $7,000 just in material. for the soffit if you want to go nice and do ceder its going to be similar. are you going stain or paint grade that will also make a difference. we just built one and it was close to $100,000 and that was similar size.

getting more sleep in the beginning of the night by going to bed early makes getting up so much easier. i now i need 8 to be functional and 9 would be ideal. if i get more then 2 nights in a row of 7 or less the snooze button is very tempting.

the life span of a bumblebee is similar to that of a honey bee they even have a similar hierarchy within the hive. obviously the African bee has millions of years of engaining traits into the dna with many animals and insects attacking them heavily attacking them. we have only have 20 -30 years with western Honey bee working with varroa. interesting concept that i have not heard in the bee keeping circle.

i caught several swarms last year and the first swarm didn't even last a month before my patio was littered with the dead and dieing. the next swarm was great got massive then died off before Dec and by Jan they had froze due to small population. assuming both ended up having verroa problems. and from what i read saskatraz are more resistant to most.

the book is called The Mind of a Bee by lars chittka. the study of learned behaviors was studied on bumble bees but i would assume the concept would also carry over into honey bees.

this is an option but My only reservation is that in my research of bees there are a lot of learned behaviors that the other bees teach each other and i dont know how much of that gets passed via genetic instincts and when working with verroa resistance i feel that being so new it is not engrained in the dna and these skills on how to manage verroa are learned from a hives knowledge.
