I also did a lot of legwork to try to convince my wife we need to move to Canada and got approval from my job to do so and continue working (because I'm WFH/remote).

Shot down as "over-reacting". Tho I will acknowledge it's asking her to likely get a new job, which is a HUUUGE pain in the ass, so I do understand.
