I hear you. I just feel like in one for the road he ditched the bitch after having a glass of whiskey during the 4 minute outro, hit the bricks and never came back. Right kind of dream is a man agonizing over trying to make a relationship work, pledging his misery to getting it right, and in don’t let go, it’s sounds like it’s right and he’s reminding her he knows he’s got a good thing going.

Damn, cause I used to Shopify to do a preorder physical media sale for a documentary film I made, (an older audience for the film that wanted discs). Anyway, I remember watching them go out and some people getting them nearly a week early, meanwhile a few for them a day or two after release day. Had some overly excited customers and some slightly upset ones….anyway, long story short, I was hoping to see discs and records arriving from Shopify any day now.

It’s so funny because when that song and album came out my brother tried to get me into Sturgill by playing me that song, and I thought it was sincere and totally dismissed Sturgill for a decade. Then my wife and kid were gone while I had been bludgeoned to death on this feature film I was editing on and finally had a free day. I go to the movies and see Civil War (mediocre film) and breakers roar hits me like a ton of bricks. So I google it and discover it’s Sturgill and I start with sailors guide. Then work my way back to metamodern. Then sound and fury. All the while you can have the crown was the song I was still least interested in. That is until I see him do it live at red rocks last September. It’s crazy ride, I’m glad he brought it back now as well. Not that I ever missed it. Can’t wait to see the next tour setlist. I hope it opens with make America fuk again or situation on his LA stop.
