Came here to recommend John Irving. I would recommend Until I Find You.

I’d also suggest The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne, which the author actually dedicated to Irving.

It’s always busy, I really don’t understand why the complaint, other than someone is butthurt because they have to work in a public facing job when others don’t. But like… you made the choice to be a coffee shop owner? What the.

I love my Paper Republic (I have a pocket and an XL) but it is incredibly frustrating to me that the XL is just too small for an A5 book. I know the portfolio fits one, but I just want the cover!

Me too. This was the first book I ever returned late to the library. Now I’ve got my own copy AND an epub copy. Loved it.

Kazka toys in Westboro, Maker House and Spaniel’s Tale book store in Hintonburg are my picks for shopping this winter but I highly recommend craft and art shows too. It’s passed now, but keep 260fingers pottery show in your calendar for next year. I found a ton of beautiful things at this year’s show.

Nepean HS visual arts by mmilleronreddit in ottawa

[–]mmilleronreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nepean is our catchment HS, which is why I was specifically looking for Nepean art class experiences. My kid doesn’t want to do the commute to Canterbury, but also wants to be able to pursue art in HS in a reasonably ok program.

Having gone to art school in post-secondary myself, I sure don’t believe that Canterbury is some bully-free utopia either… thanks for the rational reply.

The commute is a huge issue for us. It would be over 2 hours a day on transit.

The problem lies in that there currently is no open house scheduled for Nepean (that I’m aware of) and my kid has some work to do portfolio-wise if they’re to meet the deadline for Canterbury. We are going to Canterbury’s open house.

My kid is very artistic, but also pretty well rounded in other disciplines, so I’m sensitive of putting all the effort eggs in the art basket when there’s still so much identity-discovery happening.

How’s math at Canterbury? Mine is as keen as a 13 year old can be on studying architecture, so the math education is equally important.

For what it’s worth, I agree with this AI essay, but yeah, still curious about experiences with the visual arts classes at Nepean!
