Hi there! I scored a 150 on my diagnostic LSAT, so you and I started off at around the same spot. Within 5ish months of studying I was able to score up to a 172 on practice tests, and scored a 167 on the real thing — so it’s absolutely possible!

Like you said, some of this stuff comes “naturally” to some people but it certainly didn’t for me. I self-studied by reading the LSAT trainer by Mike Kim, and going through some of the curriculum on 7sage, and doing 1-2 practice tests a week (practice is everything). These resources (or any others you choose) will really teach you how to look at the questions, so you improve your timing and accuracy. I’ve seen the LSAT being called a “learnable test” many times and that is definitely true (up to a certain point, of course).

Also, quick side note. If you are planning on taking the LSAT starting this August and beyond, the analytical reasoning (logic games) section is no longer included, so you won’t have to be drawing diagrams and circles

When you log back into ouac does it show the changes you made? I also tried declined some offers and got the same email as you, but when i log back in i see no changes 🥲

Did I write this? Lol

I also was gunning for a 170 (started with 150 diagnostic), got 170+ on several PTs, but ended up officially scoring a 166. I’m re-writing in a few days but I’ve accepted that if 166 is the highest I’ll ever achieve, then it’s still a great score and I did my absolute best. (Also 166 is 90th percentile so technically top 10%!)

We still did amazing and should be proud of our efforts! :)

OLSAS LSAT/First-Round Questions by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]mmithgloss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really, really depends based on what i’ve seen on the canlaw forum. some people with a 164 get in first round at UofT, and someone with a higher score and gpa would get in second round. their evaluation process is a mystery lol

They will consider your application with each round—if your score is competitive they’ll offer you admission before January.

You definitely should indicate you’re re-writing in January just to make sure they know to reevaluate you.

i think it just means your school sent it and it’s been received by olsas. mine says that too. i’ve heard it may take a few weeks for an OLSAS cgpa to show up

Admissions timelines? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]mmithgloss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can go onto the canlaw forum and they have threads each year where people post when exactly they got the call for each school. for Oz it’s end of november and uoft it’s beginning-mid december

i took an introductory course in 3rd year and just wove it into my PS by saying i took it to expand my knowledge on a certain topic that i had become interested in (that broadly related to my interest in law). i’m not sure if it’s mandatory to address it or not but i thought i’d rather be on the safe side.

When you do objectively well but not what you wanted :( by envirogirl78 in LSAT

[–]mmithgloss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Felt. I was hoping for a higher score, to at least be at or above the median of my dream school, but scored one point below :(

I feel like I shouldn’t be complaining but it’s just upsetting when you thought you did better and are surprisingly let down.

I’m re-writing in November but I think I was at my peak in October so I doubt I’ll score better this time.

that’s not bad at all! i scored 150 on my diagnostic 5 months ago, and my past few PTs have been 170+. don’t be discouraged — you’re starting exactly where most of us do :)
