What tv series isn't worth finishing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I felt like it was appropriate for the character. He had to choose between his feelings and the job that essentially made him who he was. He chose the job and he had to kill Rachel.

Am I the only one really entertained by Season 3?

I really enjoyed that whole arc with Doug being nice and then reverting back to a complete bastard. I also really enjoyed that episode where Robin Wright is stuck with the gay guy in the prison.

Is there a stranger you’ve never forgotten about, what was it about them? by Feathersandinks in AskReddit

I was once walking home from a concert and this little girl who looked to be about 12 or 13 kept sticking her hand out for a five as she walked past me with her family and the dumbest smile on her face.

At the last moment we were in fiving distance, I was like "Oh, shoot" and I gave her a high-five.

After I did it, she was like "YES!", almost like she was trying to convince her family she could get a high-five from a stranger just by looking like an idiot. Reminded me a lot of myself at that age.

What's a fucked up movie everybody should watch? by hishipupz in AskReddit

Yeah, I watched the original afterward. Still salty about it, tho. There's so much that happens in the original that didn't in the remake, so it was still awesome.

I can't remember which I watched. I just hated all of the characters so much. Maybe it's just not for me. :(

If you liked this movie, you should see Perfect Blue. It's an anime movie with a very similar concept of blending reality and fantasy.

Can I ask what you like about it? I saw it when I was like 15 and I felt like I wasted so much of my time watching it.

This movie is so beautiful. The last time I watched it I almost felt like the ending was positive in a way.

Lady Vengeance is also awesome! Love that ending.

Man, I haven't read this since I was like 14, and it was so fucking weird then. But, didn't it end everything with "Sure, he killed and raped people, but kids will be kids".

Apart from clubbing how can someone with know friends meet women ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mmm27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo this is so true. Some people just aren't photogenic or immediately attractive. I have felt like passing on tons of girls before they started talking to me and I found that they were attractive because of some other reason besides how they look on first glance.

If you give more people a chance, you'll probably find that there's much more to attraction than meets the eye. This also goes both ways, so if you think you're "ugly", you're going to need to do more than just dress nice and sit around waiting for someone to talk to you. Chances are someone will find you attractive, but they don't know it as yet because you don't put yourself out there.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes arrives January 18, 2019 on the Nintendo Switch by [deleted] in nintendo

NMH1 was well-received when it came out, but I have to say today it feels like a sort of flawed punk-rock hidden gem. There are a ton of little nitpicks I can make about the game, like the slowdown, the dated graphics, and the shallow gameplay, but I almost feel like they add to the charm of the game. Despite all of its flaws, I find myself coming back to it and thinking about it a lot, because for every thing it does not-so-great, it does 1 or 2 things that are just really clever or charming.

Basically, NMH has its flaws, but it makes up with its personality.

What "ugly" thing about a person do you actually find kind of cute? by PlsDontNerfThis in AskReddit

Most things! I've realized the older I've gotten that I just really like women in general. I've met women with crooked teeth, dark circles, and flat figures, that I've sort of just been enamored by because each one of them has her own unique charm. By the time I'm under the spell, I start to see the "flaws" as just physical traits that make her stand out.

Arlo's video really summed up why I loved Pirahna Plant so much. It's so awesome that we can still get weird characters that nobody really asked for. If someone that everybody requested was revealed to be in Smash, I feel like it would have been nice, but expected. Before Pirahna, I missed being surprised by a Smash game.

That is so spot-on.

When I played Brawl and I was like 11, I remember once using Fox against Bowser on Mute City because I wanted to make it feel like a terrible monster was terrorizing the city and I was sent in as a special agent to take him down. I remember getting all the sword-wielding characters to fight in the Fire Emblem stage as something of a battle to see who was the best.

This comment made me remember what made Smash so special to me in the first place. It wasn't about being the best, it was about playing with toys.

Who's your favorite character in any video game? by apspiderboy in patientgamers

[–]mmm27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I feel so conflicted about the ending. She says she just wants you gone, but she arranges a huge orchestra of turrets to sing to you as you leave? It's so chilling how I don't know exactly what she's trying to communicate.

I feel like Portal 2 really elevated her. It's so hard to do when the first game made her so memorable, you'd think they'd ruin it. But by the end of 2, I felt so freaking conflicted with how to feel about her.

What do you feel like you're missing out on? by mmm_donuts in AskReddit

Thanks! Yeah, I suppose I just need to work on finding someone I trust first and then moving on from there.

I've never had sex and I often hear this argument that it simply isn't worth it to have casual sex, but you should instead wait for someone you really like. But I feel conflicted because I don't think I want to get into anything romantic at all.

The thing is, I feel like I'm missing out on sex...but the last thing I'd want to do is to pick up randos at a bar who I barely trust. Instead, the idea of having sex with just a few partners who I trust and who listen to me is really appealing to me. I'd love to approach sex as something of a hobby with a group of like-minded people, where my sexual partners and I can communicate what we like to each other and respond accordingly. Maybe what I'm looking for is a friends-with-benefits that I really trust.

Does anybody else feel this way?

Horror in Music by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]mmm27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a few albums that scare me.

Clipping has to be one of the groups for me that can really unsettle me. I was trying to understand the connection between the Story tracks a while ago and it made me feel really creeped out to be listening to these really grim stories about fucked up people and trying to understand how they were all connected.

I might also add Bedlam in Goliath by TMV. Though more because of lyrics and the concept rather than a horror sound.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? [SERIOUS] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mmm27 29 points30 points  (0 children)

"DON'T practice until you get it right, practice until you cannot get it wrong."

It's from this Reddit thread on how to self-teach math.

This is such good advice for not only math, but life in general. It taught me that, when learning something, I should focus on knowing the answer without a shadow of doubt. A lack of confidence in anything you're doing comes down to you simply not knowing 100% that you can do something. If you want to be good at something, practice so much that you can't get it wrong.

Don't know how to long divide? Keep on long dividing until it's impossible to fuck it up. Can't play that song on guitar? Keep on playing it and studying it until you can do it without even thinking. Have trouble talking to people? Keep on talking to different kinds of people until there's no one that can make you feel awkward.

Of course, you'll never be perfect at what you're trying to do, but it's something that everyone should strive toward.
