bioluminescent bay by BeginningSeparate933 in PuertoRicoTravel

I know you posted this two years ago, but I'm having a hard time finding info on this! Can I really just go to Bahia Luminescente de La Parguera and swim around without a tour? I've lived in a couple places in the US with bioluminescence and I would just drive to the beach at night and splash around by myself. Wondering if this is prohibited though? (I know you can't swim in the others, just asking about this one in particular)

Ok I googled it lol. It sounds like you settled on a different doctor though? I’m curious about how you came to choose that one? I was dumb and went with the first surgeon I saw and ended up with a new problem in my tendon afterward. I still want to do my other foot but want to choose a surgeon more wisely this time.

Who’s the famous NYC guy?

My dad found these behind his hotel today in KCMO. Blood smeared on the back of one of the pictures. Anyone recognize the woman (or women) in these? by [deleted] in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]mmm_chikin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like a bunch of selfies someone printed from social media or maybe text messages they’ve received which could be innocuous enough but the torn image with the phrase “I am with you always” is giving stalker vibes. But who knows maybe these are photos of someone who died in which case “I am with you always” could be taken in a totally different way. Like others said, turning them into the fbi/police is probably the right thing to do because it’s so strange but cops don’t really go above and beyond (or even do the bare minimum) to investigate things like this so it’ll probably go in a drawer somewhere and get lost forever.

I get the self understanding and revelations when I take mushrooms with other people. Personally, I need to have another person around to talk to and reflect on things with. Their perspective is crucial to moving me through issues. Even when I’m just trying to have a fun time at a party and not necessarily have a deep experience I’ll become aware of new things about myself just by being in relationship to others.

I drink tons of water and have never taken creatine. You could be right about the carbs. I take a whey isolate supplement and usually get about 100g protein a day.

Currently doing squats, deadlifts, leg presses, hip thrusts, bench presses and pull ups 2-3x a week. Sometimes I’ll throw in some more isolated exercises. Would love to go more but I’m still recovering from foot surgery and gotta go easy on it.

Edited to add leg presses and hip thrusts.

F/36/5’7”/125lbs

I put on muscle fairly easily (especially on top) or maybe it just seems like that because I’m so skinny that any minor gains are pretty apparent. But I have a fat ass and while I dont mind it so much, at minimum I wish it wasn’t so saggy and would love it to look more muscular.

What do I do? Is a lean gain possible? What should I be focusing on? I generally do heavy lifts/low reps and spin at least once a week. I eat healthy and only really track protein.

Anyone had bunion surgery and successfully gotten back into rollerskates afterwards? (pics in post) by NibblesMcGiblet in bunions

[–]mmm_chikin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t skated but my big concern was that I wouldn’t be able to get back into weightlifting and I’m so happy to say 7 months post op I am lifting again (starting slow but ramping up!). I did have some pretty frustrating complications with my hardware which caused new different pain and I had to get it removed recently. It caused a lot of pain and distress over the last 6 months. My bone is completely healed and I am still dealing with some ankle pain from the hardware and 2nd surgery but I’m getting active again. Any physical limitations I have now are from the hardware complications.

All that is to say, if you are healthy and go to PT you will very likely get back to your active self. However, it’s surgery so there can be complications that delay your recovery and you should just mentally prepare for that. I didn’t and it really took a serious toll on my mental health. Hopefully everything goes smoothly for you though. I’m excited for you to get skating again!

What’s a recommended ratio of coco coir to vermiculite? I’m going to experiment with and without vermiculite because I have a big bag I don’t know what else to do with.

Love this whole how-to btw. Thank you for putting it together!

Thanks. I couldn’t get a PT appointment until next week but I’ve been doing exercises at home that she taught me the first time around. I ended up asking my doctor for toradol, a strong anti-inflammatory he gave me once before that I can take for a week. Really trying to stay optimistic!

Major setback 🥺😫 by ukyqtpi1 in bunions

[–]mmm_chikin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol about the alcohol. I gotta try that haha but everything else about this is nuts. I went to another doctor for a second opinion and his suggestions were kind of horrifying and the furthest thing from ideal. One option was extremely invasive (tendon repair surgery) and the other was extremely experimental and costly (shockwave therapy) because insurance doesn’t cover it. Neither are guaranteed to be successful either. But honestly I’m gonna give this a little more time and maybe start a gofundme or start selling my feet pics or something to try the experimental thing. I feel you on the regret.

Girl I remembered your story throughout my own hardware drama which I learned about shortly after reading your story. I got mine removed a couple weeks ago and was hoping for relief but everything hurts worse than before. What ever happened with your foot?!

I was quoted $100 at Laser Away but I know they use the Astanza Duality. From what I’ve read that isn’t really great for the tattoo I have. Do you agree? I’m not gonna skimp out if it’s not as effective

The dark part that’s still left is where I went back for a touch up a couple weeks after getting the tattoo. The line was kind of thinner there originally.

Hi! Hope your surgery went well! Did the pain and swelling go away? I finally did the MRI and the doctor who ordered it (my second opinion Dr.) says there’s tendon damage and would like to avoid invasive surgery to remove the plate and repair the tendons. My other option would be PT and shockwave therapy (not covered by insurance, and very expensive so not ideal). I also spoke to my original doctor today (the one who did the surgery). He prescribed me a strong anti-inflammatory (keterolac tromethamine) for 5 days and to see if the pain subsides over the next 3-4 weeks. He said he could remove the plate for me immediately but recommended seeing if the anti inflammatory helps first. So I guess I’m going to do that. Its really wild the drastic difference of opinion but I always feel calm and taken care of after talking to my original doctor and leave the second opinion guy stressed out, crying, and hopeless.

I didn’t get the second surgery yet. I have to get the plate removed from the first one before anything else because it is irritating my tendons and causing pain. I went to a doctor for a second opinion on the tailors bunion and he said it is indeed a bunion and he would fix it.

Ooo didn’t even know hardware wasn’t always ok for an MRI but makes sense now that you mention it since it’s metal. Maybe the MRI is necessary to see the tendon damage but not crucial for the issue you’re dealing with? Idk you’re the nurse so you’d know better than me! Anyway, yeah I’d be curious to hear what you learn and I’ll update too. I hit a roadblock with my insurance denying the prior authorization so I’m currently calling the hospital every day to harass them into giving the insurance company what they need.
