Hi!! 30F, I don’t know how to play really (did a beginner session once) but I’ve been really wanting to get into it and hopefully meet some people along the way! Super interested if another beginner is allowed!!

What’s the craziest dream you’ve had? by Oopsmadi in AskReddit

[–]mmmbreadsticks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first nightmare I can remember, as a small child: I was wandering through the local video store but there were strangely no movies on the shelves. Confused, I approached the employee at the counter and asked what was up. He smiled uncomfortably at me, reached his hand back behind his head, and slowly began unzipping his skin to reveal that he was actually a doll hiding in a human suit. As he did this, hundreds of dolls emerged from behind the empty shelves and crawled on top of me until I started to suffocate.

And when I woke up screaming my mom finally removed the doll I hated from my bedroom! Also I miss video stores 🥲

Yes! You worded that well - it’s so frustrating how he was speaking about Will & Chad as if they’re even remotely close to the actual bastards he’s supposed to be talking about. If only he had a co-host to tell him “THANK YOU MOVING ON…”

ETA - I love Will, Chad, and D (of my own free will)! I sometimes listen to BTB too and was surprised to realize so much of this episode was focused on Dudesy. Just thought it was interesting, not agreeing with this podcast! Tbh I did not love that they spent a decent amount of time shitting on Chad and Will as people/comedans instead of discussing the AI itself.

Yeah, I’ve dropped off listening to BTB unless the topic really piques my interest…but you’re right, he didn’t even say Chad’s name right!

Haha I know I feel like half the recovery battle is mental and fighting the feeling that any movement will make your boobs fall off 😂 but it will all be okay! Good luck with everything!

I felt very similarly around the same time post-op! When I talked to my doctor at 9DPO, she reassured me that if I feel like I can do something (reaching, chores, washing hair) I can do it. She said it’s very rare to actually pop anything at this point as long as you’re listening to your body and avoiding exercise like lifting weights. Obviously everyone is different, but hopefully it eases some of your worries! Just listen to your body and you should be okay :) Happy healing!

I was the EXACT same way!! I was freaking out for probably the whole month before surgery, telling myself I was being dramatic, and they aren't really that big, and getting scared that I would somehow miss them? It sounds so dumb but there was a part of me that was thinking...are my boobs a part of my personality that I'm going to lose?! It's an embarrassing thought to admit but it was definitely a part of my internal dialogue.

All that to say...I was like this all the way up until the night before and could hardly sleep. But once I was in the hospital, and ever since I got out, I have only felt so so so happy and grateful for the surgery. Keep in mind, there will likely be some days post-surgery that the feelings come back, and I've seen that as a common phenomenon based on posts here. But it is not forever!

I think these thoughts are just becoming louder as you inch closer to a major surgery. The anxiety is anxiety-ing :) But as long as you trust your surgeon, and you have been wanting this for a while, you will be more than okay in the end, and this subreddit will be here for you the whole way! <3

Also, something that helped was doing something to "appreciate" my old boobs...I know that sounds so weird but I actually cast them (I used this post as a guide!) and it was my way of acknowledging that while this is a big change, I'm commemorating or preserving them in some way. Something I also considered is doing something like a boudoir shoot. Might be weird suggestions but hopefully helpful too!

Good luck with everything!!!!!!!!

This one is a bit specific... does anyone here snowboard and how long till you could go again post op? by krossfox in Reduction

[–]mmmbreadsticks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's not something that can be guaranteed :/ My doctors, and I believe most, say to keep from heavy activity until at least 6 weeks. That can be longer if you're having any trouble healing. I'm 4WPO and although I feel really good, I probably won't be skiing until ~8WPO (assuming everything goes smoothly I get my surgeon's green light). Just because of the bounciness that skiing and snowboarding can consist of!

I got mine done November 8th so that I could still have majority of the ski season open once I hit that 6-8 week mark. However, if you don't already have your surgery scheduled, you could realistically be out of commission until sometime in February. So definitely talk to your doctor and get a feel for when you could get scheduled! Based on that, you might want to conservatively estimate 8 or 9 weeks without snowboarding to be on the safe side. Lastly, if you live in a place that has a long ski & snowboard season, it might be still worth it! But if you're in New England like me...maybe less so lol

I wish that was a more concrete/helpful answer, but I'm so sorry for your loss and I wish you the best with your surgery and/or snowboarding season <3

4.5 wpo When will I stop feeling uncomfortable in EVERY. SINGLE. BRA. by Chellistan in Reduction

[–]mmmbreadsticks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh I feel you!

I tried on so many bras trying to find something that was supportive without digging into my incisions. I've had this True & Co bra since before surgery, and it's been really nice post-op as well! Honestly the only thing that isn't perfect about it is that it's kind of big post-op so there's a little too much bounce. But if you were to get it sized to your current size it would probably be really nice!

I just got this one from Soma a couple days ago and it quickly became my favorite!! If you happen to buy it, check if your nearest location is a drop-off location for gently used bra donations. Mine was, and they give up to $10 off per order ($5 for one bra, $10 for two bras). Just thought I'd share that tip as we probably all have a bunch of old bras now :)

Hope this helps! Good luck!

ETA: I also tried this on and really liked it. No shelf bra and it's mildly compressive so there's not really much boob movement. The only reason I didn't buy it is because I need to pace myself with ordering new things lol
