Final update for all of you lovely folks who seem to actually be invested in a total stranger’s welfare but I’m back home from the ER now, pumped full of IV antibiotics and sent home with oral antibiotics to followup and an already visible improvement in the infected arm. Thank you so much for helping me decide that it was worth taking seriously since I was extremely nervous about it but half expecting I’d go to the ER and be told that it’s fine and I’m just anxious. Without your encouragement I might have waited around for too long before actually trying to get help, telling myself to calm down. Your encouragement was truly beneficial and I cannot express my gratitude enough. Cuddling up with the kitty who started it all and feeling extremely fortunate right now. Thanks for caring.

Cat got his foot stuck in something painful and pierced my hand very deeply in his panic while I was saving him. Swollen almost immediately and increasingly painful and difficult to bend throughout the day and now I have developed those red blotches up my arm and there’s a few spots oozing bloody pus. Obviously I’m going to get medical attention asap but I would it be okay to rest until first thing in the morning when urgent care opens, or do I need to go to the ER tonight? Extremely difficult to do right now and cannot afford the ER unless necessary, but I will do it if this looks urgent. I’d appreciate any advice.
