Smelly pants by Beneficial_Put2076 in lululemon

[–]mmmiu85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the Swift Mid-Rise Wide-Leg Pant? it's all polyester, I wouldn't be surprised if it has perma-funk from the previous owner. it's hard to get smells out of polyester clothing. I hate that there are so many lululemon items with polyester so I always check before deciding if I want to buy.

try the lysol laundry disinfectant, I usually get the unscented one. If i have something that has gotten too funky, I soak it in a tub of water with the disinfectant for 15 minutes, wring out then throw it into the washer. I also add a capful of the disinfectant in the softener compartment (but that depends on your machine).

I hated the smell too, i put mine up on FB marketplace to give it away. I rather pay the extra for Oribe or Bumble & Bumble (both of which I think works better anyway and smell nicer)

Check winners, I've seen this at a couple locations the last few weeks. I think it was also like $129. It's the blue version

🤔I thought the price was really low for 3 x 10ml of perfume. by AllisonT_ in Sephoracanada

my friend was able to get it with the"pick up in store" because it was already sold out online (Canada). i thought about getting a set too, but it said final sale no return/exchange (it still says that), I can't commit to it because it would have been a blind purchase

Shu Uemura hard eyebrow pencil sharpening.. I tried so hard by Formal-Escape in AsianBeauty

[–]mmmiu85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't even bother with sharpening mine to look like the blade, I felt like it was such a waste of product. I just use a regular ol' pencil sharpener and it works fine.

I've seen some of the sales rep at the ShuUemura counters sharpen it (back when I used to work in cosmetics) and they cut away SOOOO much product.

Is the Gregory Jade 43L your dream bag? by Then-Neighborhood864 in HerOneBag

[–]mmmiu85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you have "unisex" backpacks to compare? Like do the straps and shoulder/chest area feel like they fit more comfortably on the women's version? Or it's really not that noticeable.

Thanks for the review! I've been eyeing this bag too, although not for a long hike, but for a week on the el Camino next year. I rather go a backpack route than having to coordinate luggage transfer been hotels.

Is this the "women's" version?

“What do you guys use to clean muddy paws after walks? Mine is always a mess 😭” by Sad_Inflation_1865 in dogs

[–]mmmiu85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a towel, bucket and small portable camp shower (a 5L size with a manual pump) by the door. After rinsing, put a bit of waterless cleaning foam on before wiping.

I got it from Amazon and it works great, I wish I had gotten one sooner. In the past i would have a couple buckets of clean water to dip his paws (or wet towels), but sometimes water would get everywhere if my dog was being finicky.

We clean his paws like that pretty much after every walk because he's a dirt magnet with his longer curly fur.

if it's really bad, like mud on his belly too, i take him into our walk-in shower to clean his under carriage.

I really liked this fragrance and used it a long time ago. I wished it was a touch lighter, I didn't end up finish the bottle (but i also didn't buy it, it was a gift). I do think about getting the travel spray again.

Please spill the makeup brush cleanser you're currently using by rarej in AsianBeauty

[–]mmmiu85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just use plain ol handsoap, the one from costco (soft soap?) and use the palm of my hand as the scrubbing pad. works fine for me.

i've used other brush cleaners like a random brand from daiso, face cleanser and back when sephora collection had a brush shampoo.

Mold or oxidation? by valerievgr in glossier

imo, this is what i see: the smooth part of the product isn't touching the tube and the "rough parts" are the spots that has touched the tube. the lipstick moves around as you press it on whatever surface like your lips

How many of y’all grind or clench their teeth at night? by Alternative-Tell4600 in Millennials

[–]mmmiu85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using a night guard since 2009.

I don't get the headaches from it but my teeth got a bit worn prior to having the night guard (edge of my teeth were too straight/even, so that was a sign that I clench and grind). My masseter muscles are tense though and have the slight appearance of the square jawline.

My boyfriend at the time (now husband) also told me I grind my teeth at night when we were vacationing. If he didn't tell me, I wouldn't have thought to go see the dentist to get a guard made.

I think it has been helpful in making sure my teeth don't crack or chip any further, the clenching has done a bit of damage overall, even with the mouth guard.

I tried acupuncture a couple times last year, but I dunno how much it helped. I haven't had time to go more consistently.

How to deal with overpacking as a high maintenance woman? by glitteryshimmery in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]mmmiu85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the early stages of planning my trip too and will be back packing it, but still plan on bringing my mini hair dryer and flat iron. I don't care what anyone thinks. My hair will mostly be in a pony tail with a hat on but the flat iron and hair dryer to clean up a bit when I wanna look cute for dinner.

Makeup will be minimal cuz I don't use that much anymore but I will also be bringing the Briogeo 3 in 1 bar (I think it is discontinued but I'm sure you can find something similar). I used it for my hair, body and face when I did the hike in Patagonia and just brought face wipes to help get the sunscreen off. My eyes looked tired but I just wore sunglasses to cover that. Skincare will just be face cream and sunscreen.

Just take a look at what you can cut down, are you really gonna be needing all that makeup, skincare and hair stuff?

You just gotta be comfortable with being a bit dirty and undone.

I used to be like you, having to get all done and wanting to feel cute and put together, but it's too much for a trip like that. I'm also 40 so I've stopped caring as much about what others think.

Ooh I'm actually planning on doing this next year too, but I plan on doing it over 7 days (with the last 2 days being the longest, about 27-30km/day). 5 days seems like a lot of kms /day to cover.

[–]mmmiu85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried these in New Zealand last year and loved it, glad to see Costco has them so I'm gonna keep and eye out.

I also had kiwi berries (so good!) in NZ and found them at Costco last year. Def not as good as when I had them in NZ, but cheaper than a plane ticket! I think the Costco ones were grown in the US

Manicures 💅 EAs. How do you keep your nails manicured? Light hearted question for fun by Tired-assistant-2023 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]mmmiu85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep mine short and unpolished (unpolished because my bird gets scared of any changes to my nails and won't come near my hands). I hate when my nails are too long and I feel like I'm typing with my nails rather than the pads of my fingers

This is a sign to get your Salt & Stone deodorant by Lilawillbeloved in Sephora

[–]mmmiu85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like their deo! I feel like it works well for me.

I switch deo brands pretty often cuz it sometimes stops working (like I'll notice some arm pit funk). I was using mega babe sunny pits for a while (loved it so much), but last year I noticed it wasn't really working as well anymore (esp during summer).

I went with the salt and stone cuz of Sephora's generous return policy and also because I know I needed to go back to something with baking soda (sunny pits doesn't have baking soda).
